Im quite upset dont think im gonna go through with my BA i would hate to end up having more surgery and end up worse off than i started.
Capsular Caontraction is the most COMMON problam with BAs and starts when your body rejects the implant as it sees it as a forigen body the cause for this is unknowen and unperdictable, More surgery is required to correct this and still it can come back. You can end up with relly hard sore mishaped boobs. The fact of this worrys me as i have had Percings in the past such as my tounge and my belly Button twice. My tounge onli lasted a year got infected + My belly Button healed over turned into scar tissue and fell out….Was this a sign of my body Rejecting a Forigen body? Its got me thinking…..
The other story from donna12oct about infection and only being left with one implant totaly freaked me out..
I have to make a decision by friday and at the moment i cant make up my mind!!!
awww bless ya, you might have had infections with you piercings because you might be allergic to silver or gold maybe?? i think you should speak to your pc about your concerns, good luck to what ever you decide xx
Capsular Contraction happens in 2-5% of cases!! MYA offer a 5 year after care which take this into consideration! If Capsular Contraction does occur then it will do in the first 3 years after surgery! They have perfected the technique to completely restore the breast tissue and shape of your breast. (they do this by scoring the scar tissue so that it stops forming)
Capsular Contraction is basically when your body finds the implant and sees it as a foreign body, which is how everyones body reacts to it. However, instead of forming just 3 or 4 layers of scare tissue your body keep forming the layers over and over which then compresses the implant causing the hardness and misshape!
Just keep researching, obviously if this did happen to you you would want to blame someone but its a risk you take like with any surgery, especially cosmetic! Also, infections only happen if you don’t follow the aftercare instructions that the surgeon gives you.
I would rule it out completely! But if its a risk you dont want to take then I guess thats your answer to whether or not you really want to go through with it! Also, read all of the happy stories and dont let the one bad story you read put you off!
Im having mine on friday and have been researching it for years so I fully understand what my body will go through!
Good luck babes, hope this helps !!

i totally agree with yemmy!my friend had her belly pierced and she had same bother as you, turns out she was allergic to the metal that belly bars are made of, she has to get a special type now and only ever wears one!she now has her boobs done and two years down the line has had no problems. think its more to do with the metals your pierced things are made of hun, dont worry, but ring your pc/surgeon sure they will help xx
Hi emilou
It is natural to worry and we want to offer all our patients the best care possible. Capsular contraction can happen but it is rare. Most cases present themselves within one year which is why we include this in our Aftercare policy and it’s covered up to three years after your procedure.
If you have any worries please don’t hesitate to call your patient coordinator or clinic nurse.
hi emilou, totally understand your worries hunni, and you have to be certain in your own mind that you want a ba and not feel that you have been talked into it by anyone. EVERYTHING in life has a small risk, and obvously having cosmetic surgery we are making the choice ourselves to have it. The percentage of complications are low, and poor donna is having a nightmare at the moment, but hopefully she will be happy about her boobs when they redo them (fingers crossed for you donna).
I had my ba in August 2009 and have had no complications at all. I feel more confident about my body, and i finally have boobs! Yes, i would have perferred not to have had surgery, but it was my choice and i don’t regret it.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do huuni xx
I dont totally want to rule it out i have 100% trust in the surgeon i have picked its the risks after the infection and capsular contractor these are out of his hands…And totaly my risk im taking i am already a C Cup small D he recomended 435cc half under mussle half over which ive not herd off?? i would go up 2 1/2 cup sizes he did not seem very intrested dint speek much which was abit off putting…
when i got back from my meeting last night i googled Capsular Contractor…..
Risk and Prevention
Numerous studies have been published with capsular contracture rates varying between 10% and 50%. Perhaps the most meaningful way to interpret these apparently discrepant values is to consider that the risk of severe capsular contracture is close to 10% and the risk of mild capsular contracture may be as high as 50%. Implant surface, implant type, implant position, and site of incision may affect your risk of capsular contracture. Generally, smooth saline implants placed under the muscle through an inframammary incision have the lowest rate of capsular contracture, and textured silicone breast implants placed over the muscle through an areolar incision have the highest rate of capsular contracture.
I was really excited at the begining of the week already to book and go ahead and now i feel abit like hopes of bigger boobs have been dashed
I’m suprised at what it asys in that article and would ask when the article was written as the risk of CC has dropped in recent years due to the advancement of the implants used. I was under the impression that the texture of the implant made it less likely to happen. I have spoken to a number of surgeons with various companies and one actually said that so far that year, 8 months, he had had no cases of CC. It is becoming increasingly rare with the better implants as they are being made to prevent it from happening and it is no longer the norm for it to happen.
Hope this helps!

when i had my ba mr adamo told me that mya get one or two per year out of the thousands of ops they do. its not dangerous and it can be corrected x
Emilou, you sound like you are not ready Hun, are you being talked into it by somebody else, there are so many girls on here including me that was so scared of having it done and you find yourself when it comes to booking it finding reasons why not to do it. You already have quite a good sized. Think of why you want it done. What would it mean to you. Would it make a difference to the way you looked or thought about yourself. If you don’t get it done will it really matter. There are many things that could go wrong with everything we do, but we just do them without reading up about them. We drink which has so make dangous some people smoke, we drive. We all make these choses for ourselves. Just make this one for the right reason. If you want to chat to some by phone that has done it I am happy to talk x x
hi i think that website you looked on is not very accurate because textured implants are meant to lower the risk of cc x
I agree with Ella those statistics don’t sound right at all!? I have just had my second BA due to getting Grade 4 CC, it didn’t happen with-in the first 3 years it happened after 11 years and after 2 pregnancies and breastfeeding. My surgeon Mr Fallahdar was totally honest about my HIGHER risks of getting CC again, I have a 15% chance of getting it again…..but in the bigger picture of things 15% isn’t that high! I have had my implants placed under the muscle this time to REDUCE the risk of CC. Hope this helps x
