    Hey ladies,

I’ve just received my admission time for my BA next Sunday at MYA Fitzroy with Dr Tsekouras and it’s at 7AM! Considering I have to spend over 3 hours travelling to London, is it possible to ask for a later admission??

I’m a night case so I’m not sure why I’ve been given such an early admission time anyway, but I’ve just looked at trains, coaches and hotels to accommodate getting there so soon in the morning and nothing works! Trains are too expensive, no coaches available except for one that for arrive in London at 2AM and hotels are even more costly and all booked out for the night I would need to stay anyway.

    Any advice?? x

    Thanks for responding!

I’ve left an email for my PC but I didn’t want to seem ungrateful, I’ve read a lot on this forum that an early admission is a blessing (probably because most day patients would prefer it and get discharged and home sooner to rest). While it’d be lovely to get back to my room for the night sooner, especially when I’m terrified of the cannula and want to get it over and done with, it’s just not possible and it’s stressing me out trying to figure out a plan lol will have to wait and see what she says xx

I was massively hoping for a 7am admission so I could get home and did get one but the day before it got changed to 10am because it was Sunday and the anaesthetists/surgeon didn’t want to start early!! (This is true they both told me!) so it could be you have received a standard time and it’ll get confirmed nearer the time. If you are unhappy about it then just call though, I’d have called if I’d had a late admission and begged to be earlier! X

Yeah I feel like it would be harder to make it earlier rather than requesting to make it later, Im sure they will change it for you! If not though Im in at 7am too on the 22nd so I will see you there!! xxx

Thanks, Bryony! That sounded like it makes sense but I’ve just got a response from my PC and she said I’m a day case and I have to be one of the first operated on even though I’m a night case, my pre op nurse informed me about staying overnight and being escorted home the next day (even specified that my partner can’t stay over with me so I’ve booked him a nearby hotel that’s non-refundable) and my procedure summary which I signed says the length of stay is one night so I’m really confused! xx

Definitely wish they’ll make the change for me. Even if they do, because of waiting times I might still see you there, Sarah! Who’s your surgeon and what are you having done? xx

I cant see why they wouldnt especially as you are staying over night. Im with Dr Tsekouras having 400cc implants . Yeah we should hopefully still see each other! What are you having done? xx

Yeah, that’s what I’m hoping to argue – surely someone who’s a day case can take my slot and I can get an admission time later like 1pm which I heard as a popular one for overnight stayers.
I’m having 450/425cc implants (HP, over the muscle), super excited but this uncertainty about time and travel and money is making me nervous lol xx

I rang my PC, she was great and quickly confirmed I’m a night case and sent in a request to hospital bookings to get a later admission time sorted for me but I’m yet to hear what response they had and my PC is now on annual leave so will have another member of MYA contact me – 4 days left and have no idea when I’m meant to be there so I can’t book travel yet, I’m so anxious haha xx

Try not to stress too much, i never even received my admission time until the day before my surgery.. i was 9am with an overnight stay but didn’t go down to theatre till roughly midday xx

Thank you, Heidi – it’s nice to know other overnight stays were called in pretty early too, it makes so much sense to have us in at a 1pm admission but here we are haha I heard back from MYA yesterday evening that they can’t change my admission time so I was devastated. 🙁
Now I’m trying to figure out a way to get there the night before so I’m not waiting around for surgery completed exhausted from early morning travel. Might be looking at a late night coach journey and whatever cheap hotel I can find even if its not nearby and get a taxi to the Fitzroy – it’s all just money as I had expected later admission which would’ve been a cheap coach journey on the day no problem! I don’t have money spare to fork out for hotels and taxis so it’s quite a stress but I’m trying to stay calm xx
