Claire1985 – 1st June, Helena at Highfield, My Story!!

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know how it all went!

Arrived just a little early for my admission time of 7:30 for a daycase, had the company of my boyfriend thank god as I was terrified!! Filled out a firm and after a few minutes someone called my name and we were shown to my room. Having never been in a private hospital befits it seemed pretty cool, en suite bathroom and tv so can’t grumble!

Helena came in and spoke to me about sizes, in the end I chose 320&350, I figured not too big and not too small. She marked me up and then left saying “see you later”

A couple if people popped in and out, first to order my lunch for later and second to take blood pressure and ask questions about health etc. The lady then mentioned that as I’m allergic to fruit (yes I’m a demic) I might need a latex allergy test as kiwi allergy has been linked to latex allergy, random! If I needed the test I wolf have to reschedule the op.

So I spent the next approx two and a half hours waiting, not knowing if I was having the op or not which was just adding to my nerves lol! But eventually a nurse came to collect me and walk me down to theatre at about 11:45. All of a sudden it hit me worse than ever and I wanted to cry! By the time I wad lay down and the anaesthetist had come in, I was close to bursting into tears! I think he and the nurse could tell even though I was doing my best to hold it back lol, and they were quite reassuring. The last thing I remember is the anaesthetist saying ” you’ll fall asleep in a moment and wake up a new woman” then bam I woke up in the recovery room! I totally need to get over it but I can’t, it just seemed so surreal.

A nurse saw me awake and I kept trying to ask if everything had gone ok but I was so shaky and shivery I couldn’t talk properly, then I just burst into tears saying “I don’t even know why I’m crying” haha. I think it was still built up from before falling asleep! The nurse was lovely and coveted me in a blanket as I was shivering so much – she said that was probably just due to the anxiety from before the op. I then had the brainwave to look down my top! At which point I realised all was well, I had boobies!!

Wheeled back to my room after about ten minutes of waking and got a big kiss from my boyfriend. Finally had dome water and after about half an hour had a jacket n tuna mayo and a cup of tea. Felt totally fine, no sickness, hardly any pain aso I’m chuffed! They do ache but its not as bad as I thought it’d be, so holding off on the painkillers for now.

The nurses checked on me a few times, Helena gave me the all clear so we left for home at about 5pm, good going I think!

Currently wearing my D sports bra and hoping they.don’t de-swell too much as I love them!

Putting pics up now but they don’t do them justice with the strapping at the mo.

Thanks girls! Can’t believe how easy it all was! I had all sorts going through my head beforehand, I’m so dramatic.

Brunettebarbie – don’t be too nervous – its not needed! You’ll be in your room afterwards wondering what you were worrying about let us know how you get on!

Fairy I don’t think there’ll be much perving, the pics aren’t great – need to get this strapping off so we can see them in their full glory!

Blondie you have nothing to worry about – the worst part for me was the waiting as I just kept worrying and worrying! Just make sure you’ve got plenty to keep you occupied just in case you are waiting for a bit. The nurses in particular were lovely, I found the anaesthetist seemed a bit cold when he first came to see me (seemed quite posh) but when I got to theatre he was a bit friendlier – prob cos he could see I was heading for a breakdown lol.

The strapping with really be supporting you, bet you can’t wait to get it off though. Heard it gets itchy. Keep a cool pack handy to help

Glad your level is pain is so low just now, mines was the same. Just take it easy though, let the b/f do all the work. It’s the perks

Thanks Claire! The strapping is so annoying but it is supportive so its worth it. It’ll soon be off! Boobie club yay finally yay! The boyfriend has been a star and very patient and he’s admitted he loves the boobies even though he was unsure about me getting them done xxx

Blondie I’m doing better now thanks. Had a tough day with pain on thurs but I feel loads better now – plus the rogue 5lbs I put on is wearing off thank god – must have been fluid! Gonna get out of the house tomorrow and go for a good walk! How are you getting on? Xxx

that’s good to hear, I haven’t dared to get on the scales as yet, i’m going to leave it until the swelling goes down and I get back into the swing of things again before I do! I’m doing well, knackered today, painkillers really wiping me out but at least i’m not in any pain. Managed a walk with the dogs today with my hubby leading them, and they didn’t hurt when i walked which was good as on the way back from the hospital, every bump in the car was agony! I’m going to try and get out for a walk once a day if i can now xx

Thanks girls! Feel loads better now, its just really the sleeping that’s a pain in the arse. Strapping off on weds at which point ill add new pics which will hopefully be better than the ones up now – don’t think they do them much justice!

Kate I had 320 in my left and 350 in my right to balance the size. Overs, low profile. I started about 34a and wanted to be natural and a big c/small d.

George I can’t wait to go clothes shopping and bikini shopping! Xx

Im having low profile too, im going for 435cc, which i think i will end up DD-E cup, i have a very empty C cup at the moment so have to go a bit bigger to fill them out! I was worried at first about low profiles, but iv been told they are best for more of a natural look xx

Yeah I think they’re supposed to give more if a natural look as they don’t stick out as much, which is what I wanted. I bet you can’t wait! Keep us posted and any questions just let me know xx

Hi hun,

The strapping is driving me mad! In Manchester for post op on weds at 4pm so not long til its off – have you got the post op in Manchester?

I’d avoid picking up baby when you can! Even though you might feel better you really need to be careful to avoid any tears etc.

About half of each boob is still completely numb and just one nipple is numb, weird. The other nipple has been fairly ok, occasionally very sensitive! I’m really not sure but I think it can take months for them to get back to normal – gonna ask stuff like this on weds.

Back in work tomorrow already, gutted! Xx

gutting,i dont go back till 24th june, i’m a nurse and do a lot of moving and handling.

My tummy has gone down loads compared to what it was but its still sticking out a bit. I usually hold my tummy in constantly lol and I can’t at the mo so that’s not helping.

I’m so glad I went for the bigger size. I’m filling the D bra too but not sure if that’s cos of all the strapping at the bottom – I think I’m more of a full C.

Hi Kirsty how old is ur baby?? I’m seeing Helena on 15th 4 consultation I can’t wait to see her but I have a 14 wk old baby & am worrying already about after the op picking up baby etc. How have u been? Thanks Xxx

my baby is 15mths, she walks about but its getting her in/out of cot and pram n bath!!

i have a 7 year old aswell so she helps out at times!

helena is lovely, i would highly recommended her!! she knows exactly what u want x do they do it soooo soon after a baby?

I’ve only got my consultation on 15th am looking at having op end Aug, they can do it as soon as ur milk has dried up.

hi girls! i had my 1st consultation on friday with alison! just deciding on a surgeon but definately going ahead! think i’m going to opt for helena now reading this story and all your comments! how far in advance can you book dates does anyone know? im thinking 2nd week in december so i dont have to use as many holidays at work!! xx

If you’re in the Manchester area both Helena and Mr Traynor have excellent feedback and reviews! Do you research and talk to your pc to decide on your surgeon. I had my first appointment early may I think, then booked for the 1st June so it was pretty quick! I’m really not sure how far in advance you can book – drop your pc a text and she should let you know. Message me.if you want to use my name to get money off xx

baileybop i asked for a natural looking implant and they said to have low profile, as i just wanted mine filled up as im empty so low profile is best for that xx

it depends on your original breast shape as i wanted natural and i was advised to have medium profile in the Inspira range to give a natural looking fullness x
