Cleaning incisions?

Hi!

I’m 11days po now. I had my strappin removed on day 7 n more strips were put over my incisions. My nurse told me I can shower today whooo! n remove the strips. I’ve done this now but I’m left with mucky looking incision marks as the strappin glue n pen marks r still there. My bf says they look ok but I’m worried not cleaning them it may cause an infection. Have I to leave em or wash them? As anyone else had this problem?

P.s. That was the besets shower ever!!! Lol xx

Hey hun, l am 24 days post op had my dressing removed on 13days was told not to wash with soap but could shower and wash my hair in the shower providing l did not rub the excess shampoo onto the boobies like u would normally. U can let the shampoo run off ur boobs. If l have a bath l still kep my bra on with bubble bath in and dont get that wet. if l have a deep bath dont have anything in it no soap. Basically no perfume on ur incisons x Get a damp cloth or cotton pad and wipe it hun xx

I didnt touch mine hun. Mine were clean though all i done was use non perfumed shower gel (simple is good for shampoo and shower gel) and let it run down didnt directly wash me scars though. Xx

Rember use a hair dryer to dry them minimises infection xx

Thanks I’ve done everything else but wasn’t sure about my incisions cos I was scared to touch them. Do u think the wiping will b ok then? x

l wipe mine not to hard though. x If l bath with my bra on l wipe around my boobs with wetwipes so they are aways clean x lm so longing for a long soak in a bath with bubbles x

No perfumn/creams on ur incisons apart from scarbalm x

If they need cleaning hn i would dab them with wet cotton wool dnt wipe them cos u may pull scabs off and that aint good

i think u should b ok long as use on perfumed vicky. I have been simce day 8. Just dont rub it in ya scars.

I know my nurse told me that even clean towels can have infection on them so to hairdry scars on cold setting lol!! Lol it also helps with itchy scars too!!

Little tip, if u have a pound shop or home bargains near u buy the simeple shampoo condtioner and shower gel from thrr for a £1 a bottle as. Its a fortune in other places¡¡ xx

U cant soakin bath till scars are fully heald again cos of infecion xx

Baby johnsons bath wash i was told to use smells great and you can still have a bit of a bubble bath my nurse advised me to use johnsons. Had a nice long soak yesterday in the johnsons felt great and it doesnt harm your incisions. xx

What about Savlon wound wash to clean the incisions? That’s what I’ve been told to use when I’ve had a piercing. Probably best to double check with the nurse xx

I used antiseptic wipes to clean my scars once the dressings were off x

hi, this morning i had another look at the incisions and they arent as bad as i first thought so not guna touch em till aft my 6wk check. it must have been the lighting making them look dirtier than they actually r. i am guna speak to my pc/nurse tomo thou n see what they advise. i dnt wana take any chances xx
