Hi girls
Just want to see what everyone else done basically I got told to come off the pill 2 weeks before the operation did anyone else do the same or did you just carry on ? And also why is the reason for this? Xxxxx
Hey I only stopped a week before as my operation got moved forward, I think its precautionary to do with the increased risk of blood clots and dvt. The only problem with stopping the week before was I was in my bleed week for my operation which isnt a problem but felt a bit more uncomfortable. Hope tgat helps xx
You can go on the mini pill or get the injection instead xx
I stopped a week and a half before my op and luckily got my first period out of the way before my op yesterday :)xxx
Does everyone have to come off it? I had my pre op last week and told the nurse I was on the pill and she didnt say anything (have my op a week on sunday the 12th) xx
I had mr mounir and he told me not to come off it as he doesnt believe there is a chance of dvt in such a short op. He said there is more chance of getting pregnant so its not worth stopping it so I never and was fine xxx
Thanks girls for all your comments I’d rather not come off as I don’t want to run that risk of becoming pregnant or anything! Have my pre op next week so will make sure I ask about it then xxx
What about the contraceptive implant does that need to be removed prior to the op? xxx
I’ve been wondering the same as I’m on the pill that stops the bleeds completely so if I come off I will probably have a really, really heavy period and I don’t want to have that to worry about during or soon after the op xx
Dr traynor told me to come off it but not sure why so I saw my doctor to look at alternatives my doctor said that the normal pill thins u
Your blood x
Hey Nancy, i have my op in 2 weeks and the nurse said i was fine to stay with my implant in my arm xx
