Coming off painkillers

I had my BA Friday but I am already going to stop the co drydramol because I’m getting really bloated! Gonna just take the declofenac… Has anyone done this so soon after their BA?? I hardly feel any pain and I haven’t took pain killers for over 9 hours and I feel fine x x

Sonia I’ve done it now! Not had any for 14 hours and it’s not that bad… I ended up having unders aswell! Feels abit tight but not any pain! Hope ur healing well babe!? Xx

I had my ba on tuesday and came of the codiene yesterday, deffo relieved the bloating and I feel soooo much better for it! lol If the pain comes back I wouldn’t hesistate to take the codeine when needed tho! I’d also recommend taking paracetomol with the declofenac )thats what I’m still doing).

Hey bsclp, u taking anything for bloating coz the senekot I got is S*** lOl doesn’t do anything at all.. I will get my sis to pick me something up from the chemist tomorrow but not sure what she should get for me? Congrats on ur surgery… How u healing? X x

I took lactulose and senna and now ducloease – but to be honest none of it did anything till I stopped the codeine. I also had some wine last night, I know this is prob not recommended but seems to have speeded things up lol.

Haha well Thankyou for the advice! I come off the antibiotics on weds so might get a bottle of rose for fri night and see if there’s any affect I am usually tiny! I’m very toned and I feel about 4 months pregnant, such a horrible feeling x x

I know the feeling and trust me you will def start feeling better now you’ve stopped the codiene. Paracetamol and ibruprofen should be enough to manage any pain you have now. Happy healing hun xx

I have not had pain killers since last night too and tbh i feel fine & lets just say i do not need to get the senekot anymore since giving my body a break from the pain killers lol. x

Thankyou browneyedgirl, are we allowed to take ibroprofen? Thought we shouldn’t coz it thins the blood?xx

Youl defo stop bloating comming off the codiene. I’m finding the diclofenac horrendous!!! Its giving me really bad stomach pains iv gotta be so careful make sure I take them on a ful stomach. And iv lasted off paracetmol since day 1 coz codiene makes me sick so they didn’t bother giving me any xxx

Amy how many days post op are you hun? Yh u gotta take the other ones on a full stomach or u will get Ill with them… Xx

I’m 3 days PO now, yeah I just figured that out yesterday as the nurses we’re given me all my meds at once and that’s why I had been so sick coz I had an empty stomach. I’m finding it hard to find my apetite atm too xx

I stopped all my pain killers co drydmol and tramadol on day 3 as was bunged up and bloated and was not in a lot of pain just kept up with the antibiotics xxx

I had my last painkillers last night im so bloated and havnt been to th toilet since my op.. Not nice I know.. The pain is fine now and feel like in healing well.. Goodbye horrible painkillers hello new big pain free boobies… Eeeeek xx

I really don’t know why they make u bloat! I got a stomach (usually) like Nicole scherzinger but I feel and look like I felt when I was 4 months pregnant with my daughter lol… Not good! It’s actually going down now though, seems abit less bloated since last night x x nomore horrid painkillers! In gonna take paracetamol instead x x

My other freind had her BA with transform and her nurse told her to start taking “Arnica” tablets they said they really helped with the healing and the swelling if any of you ladies are interested in alternative meds lol, also comes in a massage gel. im gonna ask thre nurse on wed then give them a go. xx
