    Hi guys,
I have woken up with the harshest pain in my chest and upper abdomen and it gets worse when i lay down! I called the OOH helpline and the advisor asked if i have been wearing my compression socks? I wasnt told by my nurse that i needed to wear them home so i left them at hospital!! I am now in a panic as he said not wearing them could cause blood clots and may be what my pain is or could be just post op pain.

Was anyone else not told they didnt have to wear them? I have been mobile since day 1 moving about etc but i am not just panicking 🙁

    Thanks! X

Don’t panick, I’m almost 6 weeks post op and I still wake up every morning with sharp pains I have to catch my breath for a bit then it passes, the compression socks can be taken off when your fully mobile again, I only wore mine for one day as I was pottering around the house as normal the next day, only if your laid in bed quite a lot then should have them on, may be able to buy some from a chemist? Xx

I wore mine for 3 days too. And was sent home from hospital with mine. I stopped wearing mine now that im walking around and moving more. They’re good to have but you’ll get sharp pains anyways just part of the healing 🙂 keep a check on things though and move your legs about occasionally or have a walk around the house when you can if you dont have the socks

So strange i wasnt told to take them home. I ended up going to hospital as advised by the OOH and had an ECG, X Ray and bloods taken but luckily all came back fine. Must’ve just been some bad healing pain xx
