Confused about bra sizes!

ok, so maybe I should already understand this, but I’m getting a little lost on bra sizes! Before my ba I was a 32, but reading people’s comments on here, after their ba their size has changed. I thought 32, 34 etc was your rib-cage size so was unlikely to be affected by the cup size?? It’s too early for me to get measured, I’m just a little confuddled and perhaps naive!

yes you are rtight the size 32,34,36 is the size of your rib cage, this shouldnt change after your op. Think that alot of people dont get measured before their op and just assume a size but then once they have it they have the confidence to get measured.

hi Karen, i think the main problem is that most girls just wear the wrong sized bra!!!

Before my ba i use to wear a 36b and pad it out with chicken fillets. I had never been properly measured, as never really had any boobs i didn’t feel that it really mattered i suppose.
After my ba i went into a 36dd sports bra, still not realising that this was the wrong band size for me. When i finally got measured after my ba, i was only a 34 band size and not a 36
So although i use to wear a 36 i should have been wearing a 34b and my size now after my ba, is a 34e and it fits well.
Hope that helps. You are right, your band size does not change after a ba, but if you were wearing the wrong band size to start with, then once you finally get boobs, it is more important to wear the correct sized band size. x

Hey im wearing a 34e sports bra at the moment but im normaly a 30/32 back, im just swollen all over after my op and ive been told to wear a medium support sports bra and not to have it too tight so the 34 back is just nice and snug. x x x

hi Poppy, yes i think most girls find they need the next band size up right after their ba, because of the swelling, as you don’t want it to rub on your scars. But after 6 weeks or so, you should be able to go back down to your ‘normal’ size. You’re going to end up a 32f /30g wow you must be so happy! Enjoy your boobies x

Eeeeeek id be so happy with a 32f/30g. Ive ate so much rubbish the past week and ive been sitting around doing nothing ill probablys be a 38b lol, so fat at the moment. x x x x x x x x

lol poppy I think I’ll be the same once I’ve had them done! (i say this eating a massive bar of choc!!) what else can you do for a week other than stuff your face full of junk!
I’m major confused about bra sizes and what to bring as know they will swell. I’m having 410cc done on 28th May so will maybe try a d/e size?
