Hiya,
I’m all booked in with Mr Adamo for 28th December
I’m just a little confused about unders, which I’m having. Mr Adamo explained that part of the implant isn’t actually under the muscle, but I’m confused as to how it doesn’t look or feel strange if it isn’t completely covered?! Does this mean that for unders you can usually feel the implant underneath? Anyone who has had them, can you tell me if you can feel the implant underneath at all? I don’t really like the idea of part of the implant hanging out from under the muscle lol! I should have asked at the time but it didn’t really occur to me. Thanks! xxx
If you copy paste that link into your browser, it should take you to a pic of overs vs. unders- easier than trying to explain it, lol. x
hya i have unders, mine 10 days old, u can feel the implant in there but its not a weird feeling if that makes sense lol, u just sorta get used to it….the first week recovery is hard, very painful gettin about but then it does get better each day xxxx
Thanks laurakate, great link! The pic explains it far better, doesn’t look as scary as I thought at all! Doesn’t appear to hang out as much as I thought if that makes sense. Thanks susielicious, now I’m all booked I’m getting a bit more anxious about the pain but I have 11 days off work after surgery so hopefully I will be OK! xxx
im 11 days postb op today and im ok, the first 6 days r the hardest, u will feel rough but dont let that put u off cos they do start healing incredibly fast after that xxx well worth it xxx
Hey i had unders and can honestly say the pain was nothing to me its was so weird as i imagined being in bed for days unable to do anything but i stopped taking painkillers on the tuesday and i had the op on the sunday just didnt need them wasnt in enough pain to need painkillers but everyone is different i kept active going for wee walks and although i didnt really lift or strain myself which is what you shouldnt do i rested and took it easy but it was really not too bad as i know unders are meant to be more painful so dont be worrying you will be fine hun cc
Great thanks guys, I go through stages of being ridiculously excited, then so nervous, especially as I have my Informed Consent form to read through now- I am aware of most of the risks but seeing them over 9 pages freaks you out a bit! They should have a note down the side telling you the % of cases the risks apply to- as I know some are as low as 1%! catding that’s good to hear, I imagine being like that, unable to move and in agony, so hopefully I will be like you and off the painkillers after 2 days! x
i agree with catding! I didnt have pain, just ached especially the ribs for first few days! I got abit of pain after 6 days but nothing the pain killers the hosp give you couldnt sort… to me it just feels like when my milk was in when having my little girl, infact that was worse pain!
Everyones pain thresold is different, but keep moving without doing too much lifting and then you wont seize up. I found if i sat in same place for half hour or more id really ache xxx
