I have wanted my nose made smaller since the age of 10, now being 20 the time has come to under-go the operation!!

I understand what happens in the consultation, but when having tests etc before the op – what do they do!? I am completely 100% PETRIFIED of having blood tests (I have never gone through with one due to major phobia!).

I am wondering just what exactly they do so I can prepare myself, as I’m sure they will not tell me exactly the real deal if they know I am afraid!

Please help, I’ve wanted this for so long and I’m afraid of backing out now due to something really silly! I wonder if they could gas and air me first haha!!

    Thanks x

I had my blood tests done today, I detest needles but I want my op done more than anything so had my hubby come in and I put my ipod on and concentrated on the music with lots of deep breaths. Let the nurse know about your phobia and she will be great.

Just think, a few seconds and you will be on the road to a beautiful nose.

I had blood test done at my pre op,to be honest the nurse was lovely I said could we get it over with first as Im not a fan of needles, she was so gentle, felt a little scratch and that was it done very quickly,I also had mrsa swabs taken,I was weighed and measured,my blood pressure taken, and then went through lots of pre and post op information, photographs were taken, I signed a form allowing permission to contact my GP.

I was also given a brochure on the hospital where I would be having my procedure, and a little yellow card with the emergency nurses contact number on.

Thats made me feel better thanks, I know I’m still going to be afraid when I get there but you’ve made me feel more settled about it – and you’re right, it’s only a few seconds of something I don’t like, which will let me have something I want more than anything!

    Thank you.
