Contraceptive Implant…?

Not sure if I have posted anything about this yet.

Can I still have my op with that Implanenon thing inside my arm?

It’s actually due to come out the day AFTER my op lol, no way is that going to happen, so I’m going in on Wednesday to see if I can have it replaced in a couple of weeks time… will this be okay?

Also… has anyone had a history of depression/eating disorder and had problems having their BA? I had heard one girl had to have a load of tests or something because of depression? May be a sensitive subject, but I really need to put my mind at ease!

I didn’t even think about discussing it with Dr Singh when I saw him. Things like that didn’t really cross my mind whilst sat there with different size implants in my bra! Ha!

Has anyone had it replaced before?

I am sick thinking about having it taken out, I have heard it can be really painful. Ewww anyone reassure me?

Hi kayteelouu, i had old 1 taken out then a few months later a new 1 back in, it didn’t really hurt getting taken out but the new 1 I had put in was painful (she was a different doc un a s**t 1 too) she put needle in vain so it was all bruised un very sore!!! All fine now tho x

I used to suffer from severe depression and bulimia, thankfully 5 yrs on things are much better. I think if uv had depression or an ED u will never truly be over it, demons will occasionally rear their ugly heads from time to time however so long as u are managing it it shouldn’t be a prob having a BA. I mentioned on the form I stopped taking anti depressants and therapy 5 years ago and it wasn’t questioned. It depends wot place ur in now, they need to be sure ur able to cope with the emotional rollacoaster of having a BA. hope this helps. Ps if uv got an ED u need to make sure ur body is nourished enough so it can heal and u don’t get complications xxx
