contraceptive pill and ba

Hi girls

i have my ba booked for 15th oct.

Just wondering if anyone can help with this one worry.

I am currently on the contraceptive pill and im due to have my 7 day break 5 days before surgery. Wanted to run 2 packets together to prevent bleed am i allowed to do this with having the op?

iv heard u have to stop taking the pill 7days before. thats what it says in all my info xx

Yeah I have also been told you have to stop 7 days before the op…. although I do believe it depends on the surgeon. When is your pre-med? I’d ask the nurse then

The last thing you are going to want is a blooming period when you can’t wipe your a**e at the best of times after surgery! lol <So I have been told!!>

I had to stop taking my pill 13 days pre op….mayb stop taking it now then you should be period free by the time you have your BA xx

hi hun i also had to stop taking my pill 2 weeks before and start agian 2 weeks after.xx

Heya Emma, I think with any surgery, you have to stop the pill a week before the op, it basically prevents blood cots, but im not 100% sure

Hi girls. Thanks for the replies. Spoke to pc today who checked with nurse & im fine to keep takin it. Surgeon as not adviced to stop x
