curious..

Im prone to getting ill and was wondering how it works if somethin was to go wrong around surgery time?! Surely you wont get charged will you?! Anyone help.. Also concerned about not havin my pill for 2 weeks before!

Coming off the pill for two weeks before and two weeks after is fine, it’s normal, the pill can cause clotting.

i mean the risks of pregnancy coming off the pill for a month in total

The only thing you can do is be ultra careful! Use other protection or become a nun for 4 weeks! I have an implant, I forgot to ask about that actually!?

I agree, I mean why would you worry about that, if you want this procedure then you have to come off the pill. I cant see why would be an issue in my opinion there isnt anything anyone can advise tou with because its pretty obvious.. use other protection!

Yeah like everyone else said, use other forms of protection, its pretty self explanatory. For anyone who says “but I don’t like condoms”, then its that persons silly risk when they’re having surgery.

I’m 19 days PO after a breast reduction, been back on my pill for a week nearly and sex is the last thing on my mind.

I’d think that nowadays that’s a common knowledge surely? Also even if you have the implant- antibiotics may and I think do actually interfere with the hormones of the implant too. So unless you Do want to get pregnant, use condoms:)

Hi @Yana, yeah of course I would use other means, I’m certain it won’t work on antibiotics 🙂

It’s just they say that the pill can increase the risk of blood clots in surgery which is why you should stop taking it. I just wondered if there was such a risk with my implant, as I can’t really do much about mine as it’s implanted under my skin 🙂 a question for the surgeon me thinks!

Maybe for patients with an implant they’ll take some extra measures like a slight blood thinner or something 🙂 Definitely a good thing to find out for peace of mind @Trace!

Im quite aware of other protection and not worried about sex after the procedure its the two weeks before that im off the pill and yes i know theres condoms lol but some of us have a reaction hence why i want to be careful but was saying about the risks!! I think some comments are bit unnecessary was only asking for advice

Oh Kim I hope your not too upset. This forum is brillaint and anyone can ask whatever questions they want thats the whole point of it. Whats silly to one person may not be to another so maybe people should be a bit more careful in how they speak we are all adults after all. I wish I could help with the advice but I dont have sex so dont really know much about protection hahaha. I will ask about though and see if any of my friends can offer some advice.
