Curious, saline vs silicone

Does anyone know why in the US & other countries abroad they tend to use saline implants rather than silicone? I didnt even get the option of saline when i went for any of my consultations and was just wondering why this was.. Is saline even available in the UK? Xx

The USA does use silicone but I don’t think saline are available in the UK

Saline implants contain water and salt. I think they have a higher rupture rate and the material is more likely to disperse into the body. Theyre usually used for a more natural look and feel.. Imagine how water balloons feel, and they’re used for those who have a lot of breast tissue.
If a saline implant ruptured then one boob will deflate completely. I think the UK doesn’t have them for safety reasons, although Im not entirely sure hun xx

I was just reading online that Courtney Stodden had saline filled implants and im pretty sure ive read a few other famous folk have aswell so was just curious why i hadnt been offered them thats all! I thought celebrities would only get the best of the best and was starting to worry that saline was better than silicone! But theres probably pros and cons for both xx

Hey Hun I’m pretty sure you can get saline implants in this country but the rupture rate is so high and immediately noticeable plus they only last a few years I don’t think they are recommended they do use silicone in the USA but it is a different silicone to what is used in the European countries are silicone is not actually approved in the USA that’s not to say ours is not safe enough it’s just a slightly different to theirs! You can research all of this with a few googles xx

I think some ppl view silicone as a more permanent option plus with the saline they can be adjusted inside you to give you the perfect size for your frame or your vision xx
