Day 5, getting back to normal

Day 5 today. I’m much more mobile today, think resting and being housebound all week has really helped although been bored stiff! I’m going out to finish my Xmas shopping in a minute, my mother in law out 2 littluns so my husband is carting me about and bag carrying!
My left side is still sorer and I’m still feeling a little tender and tight, but much better today. Day 2 and 3 were by far the worst.
The swelling has started to go down now too but the bandages are becoming quite itchy which is really irritating but in 48 hours they will be off, woop!!!
Also the bloating is finally subsiding, the senokot worked lol.
I’ve not had much of an appetite since te surgery tho.
Have to say love this forum, hearing other people’s stories really helps and each day that passes it gets so much easier. Roll on summer 2013, not wishing our lives away but just can’t wait to wear nice summer clothes and feel good in them! X

Hi Kerry, I had mine down on Monday too x I had 385cc overs and like you are getting to the bored stiff of doing nowt stage now! The first few days of being waited on are lovely though aren’t they x

Woo nice to know we’re all in the same boat ! Today has been sooo much easier I’ve dressed myself and even straightened my hair can’t wait for monday to see if my scars are healing! Happy healing girlies and nice to hear some lovely stories this forum has helped a lot! xxx

yes sharon lovely being waited on, i was shattered round the shops today, my husband told me to go to bed! he’s gone and picked the kids up. my mum is coming to wash my hair in the morning as its so greasy, can’t walk around like it anymore!! not sure how we’re going to do it though, should i lean backwards over the bath??? as not supposed to lean forwards are we?
can’t believe how much better I’m feeling today.
have to say haven’t been in much pain since the op, its just been uncomfortable and left side sorer than right.
i think if you rest its really not that bad at all is it. happy healing to you ladies too xx

i dunno, would have thought lean over but nurse told me no leaning over and it post op info it says no leaning / bending forward, or stretching up?? much easier to go to a salon and lean backwards but no chance this close to xmas, all fully booked 🙁

I’ve not washed my hair yet!! and I feel so crummy now.
My hubbie was going to wash it today for me but with looking after the kids, he’s not had chance. I was going to lean over the bath but had better sit on the floor,on some pillows and try and put my head back!! I’ve got really long hair too so it’ll be a pain to rinse xx

Sharon I’m in the same boat as you! Long hair, plus my husband looking after our 4 year old and 13 month old too! No chance! X

Kerry, just had it washed…bliss. It was not an easy task to find the best technique! I had no choice but to kneel on a pillow over the bath, holding my new boobies tight so they didn’t budge. Managed to dry my fringe but leaving rest as too much hassle to blowdry ( I’ll get the straighteners on it later). Hope you manage ok later xxx

I washed mine day 2! Used a jug over the bath & just used little amounts of water so the jug wasn’t too heavy – was awks & prob shouldn’t have done it but it was ok, no major probs! X

had it washed sharon! my mum bless her leaning over the bath, her back aching, my neck aching, plus holding onto my boobies for dear life haha. going to ring the salon in the morning and get a nice salon wash and blow dry booked in before next weekend! can’t wait for the morning going to nurse to have bandages removed 🙂 have a lovely christmas chicks xxx
