    Hi girls…

    Not long for me now.

Just wondering how many of you have been a daycase and actually gone home rather than stay nearby in a hotel. The nurse said I will be fine to get driven home (about an hours drive)

I suppose it wont be worth booking hotel if Im gonna be fine to go home??

Although as my mums babysitting maybe I should take advantage of a night in a hotel… obviously just for a rest as no nookie to be going on hehe!!

    Thanks girls

    xx

well i was given 10.00am admission, 11am opp time. but they basically forgot about me being a daycase and put me last on the list out of 8 girls? haha idiots!

i got compensation off the hospital for my wait, train tickets and hotel!

maybe take numbers r local premier inns and book after ur opp if u feel u need it xx

Yeah thats what I think I will do as it all seems to end up different on the day with times, staying in etc.

I really dont know how I will cope being there and having to wait all day though if that happens?

Atleast you got compo for it then x

Im also highgate, think the covent garden travel lodge is bout £80 and 0.4miles away dont look too far from highgate. Prob booking that.

What happens if you dont end up having ya op til later and they wanna keep you in even if you are a day case? Surely you dont have to pay the extra as you have asked for a day case and they have said to stay in???

    xx

    Menu

They dont charge you if they keep you in so not worth booking any hotels til the day really hun x

I was a daycase at preston on weds. I had my op at 11am and at 7pm the nurse said i could go home. She then said do u want to stay tonight because u can if u want… My advise go daycase then if u dont feel upto leaving stay over night… They dont charge u that way xx

my journeys going to be about an hour and 20 now, as the original manchester clinics not being used now. think id much rather be at home in my own bed tho rather than in a hotel x

Well… if you can get to stay overnight in the hospital then go ahead.

Just keep in mind that if you can travel on the day of the op… you will still have some anaesthetic in your system and may not be in too much pain. Once the anaesthetic wears off you’d rather be in a comfortable environment (like home) and not travelling back.
