day case or not

do u rekon it willl be a good idea to do a day case. or not ive got a choice only saving £500 by doing it but dont know weater to risk it with me living a few hours away if somet went wrong the first night

If you live more than an hour away i think they insist you stay over, either that or you have a to book a hotel nearby….. i think a few girls have done that xx

You can get a hotel for 50.00 for the night, savimg yourself 450! They will keep you in if there are any probs free of charge anyway my pc says. x

def – i went in as a daycase and had to stay over night (at no extra charge) if u or they feel ur not ready to go home they dont charge u so everyone may aswell book as a day!!! xx

I booked as a daycase n then booked a travelodge so i was still in the vicinity of the hosputal as the first 24 hrs r the most important after op! Anyway when i got to hospital i asked when id b discharged n she said 8am…i looked at her n said noim on daycase…she then told me that i could stay the night if i wanted! No extra charge but bein as i paid for my hotel i deceided to leave the hospital! I was discharged at 3 ish n had my op only 6 hrs before. I felt fine n even went shoppin before goin to the hotel! Painful as hell the morning after though! But of course the drugs had worn off!! X

Hi All – Just wanted to clear this up for you. This is all dependant on the surgeon and it is his or her decision and you will discuss this at your consultation. Distance from the hospital, medical history and procedure type will influence their decision.

Just to let you know if you are fit and well enough to go home but choose to stay then you will be charged for this. Please don’t forget that the nurses check on the patients every hour and work hard to ensue you get the highest levels of care throughout the day and night.
