I’m booked on as a day case which I am fine with but my mom is coming with me and she is panicking about me having to leave on the same day and have to find a hotel etc and saying it will give her peace of mind if I’m there overnight so I’m just trying to get everyone’s thoughts. I think she is concerned as she will be the one in charge of me for the first night and I don’t wana make it a bad experience for her, bless her :-)

depends if you are having unders or overs and what your like with pain etc xx

i was a day case and stopped in a hotel near by, as both Mario and the nurses said its best. i live 40 mins up the motorway from the hospital, and they said more then 30 and id have had to stop in.

if you need to stay over night for any reason, they do it free of charge anyways, which was the peace of mind i needed (although my hotel was literally 5 mins away from the hospital) xx

i have seen lots of day cases, and not any negatives from people in doing so, but i am with your mum on this one, i stayed in as i felt safer and couldnt face the kids when i was really doped up, which i still felt until about 2 days. good luck with what you decide. x

I’m having overs, that sounds good, just told my mom and she seems a little happier to hear that :D

I’m booked in for a day case, i live 30 minutes away from the Rochdale hospital so planning on going home. I’m in for overs though so apparantly theres less chance of complications.

Good to hear from joannabella that if you need to stay in for any reason its at no extra charge – i was wondering about that! lol

If you stay overnight can someone stay with you?

    Menu

not sure, best ask sallyt. in a room with ensuite and only regular chair, doesnt recline or anything, so wouldnt be comfortable and friends have to buy their own food, i was glad he went actually, didnt feel like i could rest until he did, but then i do have two kids! and was glad of me, even if it was dopey pain me time. 😯

Hi Sally , hope you get sorted soon. I absolutely hate hospitals and was only in hospital with my second child for 6 hours including the giving birth, I was literally running out of there. Anyway I had my BA done in Manchester and I dont think its like a hospital at all , its really nice, nurses are fab they make you really comfortable and your room is sort of like a hotel room anyway own TV ,ensuite, and the room I was in was immaculate.

With my first op I remember having lots of painkillers in the night and the nurses would come in with them when they were due, the pain I can remember straight was really bad (and Im good with pain) but it soon wears off and once uv been fed, watered and had some shut eye!! lol u feel much better by the time you leave. My husband stayed over night at a hotel near by but he was with me from early morning till late watching football.

Im going back to manchester in March for a re-op and although Im extremely nervous to say the least about it Im happy to be staying over night again. It is surgery after all and it does have its complications.

Sorry for rabbiting on hope this helps. x x
