Hey hun!! I’m day case at Doncaster.. I’ve been told i have to stay at a hotel within 10 mins of the hospital???? Yet i only live half hr drive away! Has any1 else been told this? I was hoping to get a taxi from hospital or maybe a friend to take me back home x

    Menu

    Menu

i was told that you only had to stay close by if you lived like over an hour awayxx

Looby just go home, there’s no point wasting your money if you live that close to the hospital. I live an hour away, if the traffic is good, and was told I could go home x

    Menu

Yeah your right i may as well go home as prob be more comfy there too :0) Also girls is it right that you need someone to come and pick you up from hospital?? Its just that my only option may be a taxi and i’m getting worried that they wont discharge me x

    Menu

they should let ya get a taxi hun….i know emma get the train there and taxi home, they just dont allow you to drive xx

I think they like you to have someone around for 24 hours after to keep an eye on you cos of the anesthetic. So long as there is someone at home they should let you get a cab x

I was told I could be a day case if I live an hour away from the hospital, I only live about 20 mins away.

I was going in as overnight and changed my mind about a week ago, they had no more spaces left for a day case on my original day so i’ve now been set back a week.

So you may to take that into consideration if your op is coming up very soon.

You can always stay in a hotel near by because it’s always going to be cheaper then £400.

im a day case 2, was told home was fine as 20 mins away. lou81 ur so ryt, u cud stay in a 5* hotel for 400 a night lol, a travel lodge is like 50 pound, ur better of with a hotel than paying 400 to stay at hosp x

I was supposed to be a day case but I got drains so had to stay overnight. Good job cos I was really sick all night and ended up with an anti sickness jab in my bum;( I live far from the hospital too

    Menu

im a daycase but might just get a hotel near the hospital with my BF i couldnt think of anything worse than my friends driving after an operation lol, she is like a boy racer, so might take advantage of the rest and take a hotel, will be cheaper than the £400 MYA want to keep me in anyway x

    Menu

@anchovie thats why i dont get why girls pay for the nightcase because if your a daycase and they dont think your well enough then they will keep you in anyway free of charge right?

is it free if they keep you in even if your a day case am worried about hidden extras!! also after ops iv had before im always realy perky the day and night after but once i sleep i feel groggy so i am wanting to be home that night as couldnt bare traveling the nxt day when the bruising n tenderness at its wors… also how can i travel, can i go on train as am worried about getting hurt by seatbelt!! and i suppose bumped on the train all bit of a worry. im not telling anyone except fella so would prefer to be a day case!

Rebecca sometimes that’s all that’s left for the dates people can take – I have to go as a night case causeof my holidays with work (would have rather been a day case though). Also it depends what people are having done, some girls might be getting uplifts etc then they need to stay overnight or others might just want the reassurance that they’re in a hospital should anything go wrong x
