I’m almost 8 months post op now and still “feeling it” when i flex my chest muscles at all, like even slightly(I have unders). I also have the issue of slight CC on right breast (been on a program of massage for a couple of months and hopefully will have cleared by Feb which is when i am due to see Dr. K again). I REALLY want to lose a few pounds and get fit asap, but all the exercise programs, especially the ones to shape up quickly, advocate weight training/ building muscle. It feels really uncomfortable to do do those machines in the gym where you pull/ push arms things to work your arm/ shoulder muscles, and I can’t even begin to do push ups!!

Any ideas for good exercises to shape up and lose pounds quickly that don’t put too much strain on the implants?

    Ta :D

Newboobies have, you thought of doing mainly cardio on the bike and stepper, as for classes things like spinning and aerobics these sort of classes dont involve useing your chest muscles, also u small weights for your arms for toning they shouldnt effect, your boobs either, if u want to loose weight and, shape up its better to do it over a longer period than trying,to loose it quickly, peope who crash diet and try and loose weight to quick tend to put it bk on, its better to loose weight slowely x

Oh no 8 months post op and you still can’t exercise properly. Think it defo calls for cardio then or what about squats and lunges? They’re great for your legs and bum.

I’m hoping to get back to netball 4 months post op when the season starts again. I play GK at a competitive level and it involves constant arm movements and chest barging! I’m having overs, do you think I’ll be okay to play again after 4 months??

It really worries me….if i had to choose boobs and no netball or netball and no boobs the netball would win every time. I’ll be absolutely devastated if it stops me playing :S please let me know what you think girls xxx

oh good, i’m really scared of not being able to play netball or even having to take one season off it’s my life i love it! I can cope with not playing for 4 months over summer until the next season starts, but then I want to get fully back into it, thanks for the reassurance fairy! xx

I had mine done just before you newboobies, in May. I also had Mr K, 460 unders. I’m back lifting weights at the gym, although it took about 6 months before i could do full push ups again. Like you, I still get a pulling sensation across my boobs when I work my chest , which feels wierd but your body does adapt. I’ve slowly gone from doing push ups on my knees, to full ones and now im pressing weights like I did pre-op. It feels alien at first, but its the only way your body adapts!

If you just want cardio without working the upper body then you’ll be fine too x

wow thanks, so many suggestions :D Fairy urban bounce sounds like so much fun! I don’t think my gym does anything like that… do you just go to a local class or something?

Kezza thanks for that.. i read a lot of girls around 7 – 8 months say similar. I guess it’s just a sensation i will have to try to push through? I’m a little worried about doing too much on the chest though because of the possible cc. As soon as i get the all clear (if i do) in feb, i will go ahead and try with the weight lifting. When people talk about building muscle i always associate it with arms/ chest, but will leg/ lower body muscles work just as well to help burn fat?

For the best results you should combine cardio and weights, but ideally in diff workouts. You can build muscle but if you have a high body fat % you will just look bulky and not see any definition (if that’s what you want). I freaked out a little when I started to lift weights again, felt unnatural like something was gonna snap (in a non painful kinda way lol) so I dropped to a lower weight and just kept building it up from there.

If you just want optimal fat burning then yes combine the two (cardio and weights) and work the larger muscle groups e.g legs, backside, back, abs and chest if you can. Would def wait for the doctors advice if you have slight cc though xx

Newboobies no they are a chain of gyms in our area I go to and they Gav a massive range of classes! Urban bounce is amazing! I really do reccomend it! Also zumba is fab I love it ur working out but having a laugh as it ain’t serious at all!!

    Ive lost weight doing zumba!

Swimming still makes my muscles feel a tad funny lol but not hurt I can exp the feeling, its almost like there is something there lol if u know what I mean!!

I don’t do push ups I’m a bit of a girl and have to do the kneeling ones haha. I much prefer just doing cross trainer which trims arms!

    Good luck x

I know exactly what you mean fairy, that’s what i get when i use my chest muscles. I’m scared to death of pulling/ overstretching them still!! I got zumba on the xbox for christmas… not looked at it yet LOL.

Kezza yes i have high body fat % i think as i’m 5″6 10-12 but loads of fat around my thighs and bum and now on my tum too :( Really unhappy with it and need to shift asap.
