deposits??

Hi girls, just wondered how much in advance did you all have to give a deposit? think they ask for £400, im wanting my BA in september and have been asked for a deposit within the next month or so to secure a bed for september? id have thought i could give a deposit a bit nearer the time, any advice would be great cause i need to ring my PC back after work! x

hi laura, i had to put down a £500 deposit to secure the date i wanted, and then the balance had to be paid 21 days before op x

Oh rite i mean i dont mind paying a deposit so far in advance but i dont actually have a date in mind yet, im finishing paying for my car in september but not sure what dates it finishes and ive got to give a larger payment for my car on last payment if that makes sence! so do you think as long as ive given a deposit they will wait for me to let them know when i can have it done? x

I think min you can put is £400. I put £500 down.xx

I thought you paid the deposit when you booked the date, so if you’re not booking the date yet then what are you securing with your deposit? You may come to book it and the dates that are convenient for you may no longer be available. I’d wait until you can book the date.x

shes said i can split my deposit over 2 months so give £200 say end of april thn £200 end of may. but i was gunna then put money away each month up until september so i could pay more of the amount off then id have to apply for finance for what ever was left to pay! sorry if im confusing! x

You can probably hang on longer if you haven’t got a date in mind yet. September is a little way off, but if you want a certain date don’t leave it too long. The surgeons do get booked up quite a lot in advance, but if you are flexible, i would hang on a bit longer if it suits you better x

so do you think if i ring and say ill get back to them when ive got a better idea of dates id be available and see what they say? x

Hi Laura, yes i agree, dont see why they need your money when you have not decided on what date you want.. just hold out Sept is a while away yet…

once you have put a deposit down and chosen a date, lets say end of the year. Do you know if you will be abe to change that date if it becomes inconvenient for you later on in the year? x

think im getting more sorted out now! ive applied for a loan from 1st medical to see if they will lend 1st (fingers crossed!!!), i now kno when my final car payment comes out so ive got rough idea for dates yay! x
