Morning girls, I’m 2 days post-op and while my first day and night I was pain-free, last night I felt awful and the pains really kicking in today. I know the breast band isn’t helping!
Initially my surgeon never even mentioned a breast band, it was only when I told him I’d read up on them and asked if it would be beneficial that he said I should get one.

Are there any girls in here that didn’t wear a breast band at all? I get the general feeling my surgeon doesn’t use them, and I’m thinking of ditching it. It’s causing so much pain! ?

I’ve not got a breast band, all I have on is a macom bra and dressings over the incisions. No-one has mentioned a breast band to me at all. I can imagine it must be more painful as the bra itself pressing down is painful enough! X

It’s a mixture of the pressure and the fact it’s so solid that it’s pressing into my armpits. I took it off earlier for a breather and releasing the pressure just made it hurt more. Not having a great time right now ?

How far post-op are you Helen? And how are your implants looking?

Caitlyn I feel your pain, in still in great discomfort, the top of my boobs feel better now but the bottom where my incisions are is burning, it’s a horrible sensation and I honestly had the worst nights sleep. It’s day 3 for me and they aren’t as hard so hopefully things are looking up but I really didn’t expect breast augmentation to be this painful ??

Hi Caitlin, I had an uplift & implants on Thursday and don’t have a breast band. I just have the macom bra which is tight enough as it is! It’s interesting that you say the pain is only just kicking in now. I’m exactly the same. I’ve had barely any discomfort until last night. It’s not horrendously painful but definitely sore now and much more aware of where my incisions are. Do you think the morphine from the surgery is only just wearing off???? I’m currently taking ibuprofen, paracetamol and codine. I’d dropped the codine down to 1 tablet each time yesterday because of the severe bloating and the fact that I barely had any pain. it’s probably that that’s caused my pain. I’ve gone back up to 2 today so hopefully that will help. Today is definitely very different though! Xx

I wasn’t told to get a breast band and my surgeon never mentioned it either. I can barely handle my Macon bra so I can’t imagine the pain you must be going through! My best friend had to have a breast band because the surgeon she went with tends to place the implants higher than others hence the need of a breast band, but it sounds like your surgeon maybe only said it because you mentioned it? Ask your nurse first to make sure it’s ok not to wear it to be on the safe side x

Caitlin, I am six days post op today. The implants are still very high up and my boobs are still solid. I’m still in pain and the bruising is sore. I woke up with back pain this morning as I’m finding it difficult to put my shoulders back so I think I’m hunching. I feel a bit pathetic too be honest I didn’t think it would hurt this much! X

I’m glad it’s not just me, Nikki!
I’ve had the same bloating thing going on, I was burping all day yesterday. At one point I was waking up burping ?
I feel better now I’m up and about, sleeping propped up on crappy pillows did absolutely nothing for me, if I had one I think I’d be sleeping in a nice upright armchair.

Interesting you girlies say you can feel your incisions, I can’t feel mine at all yet!

Helen the back pain is awful isn’t it, I think it’s where our bodies are trying to support us in other ways to make up for the lack of using our chest muscles ? I feel better now I’m up, just dreading going back to bed tonight.

On the bright side I saw your post with your pics and they look really good! They’ll end up looking great once they’re settled. Mine are a really odd shape right now ?

My surgeon didn’t use banding. But the pain has been bad. I keep getting a sharp ripping pain in my left boob only. At first I had it a night which woke me up so I thought I must be stretching but I have had it this morning and I didn’t even move. The implant also feels more harder / heavier on that side

I had the breast band, it’s sore for the first week but you get so use it after the following weeks. I also liked it cause extra support and felt more supported when I had it on. Are you wearing it over the sports bra as that’s better, also you’ll find as the swelling goes down you’ll be doing it tighter and tighter 🙂 x

Hi devri, my left side is much more sore too. That was my bigger side so don’t know if they took more out of that one when they did the uplift. If I sit still it’s pain free but the moment I move even the tiniest bit it really makes me wince, especially underneath. I can’t see any weeping through the bandages or anything so I’m not overly worried. When I’ve got my bra on it does looks bigger and more rounded than the right. My boyfriend says not but I think it does. I don’t know if I’m being paranoid because it was bigger to start with. I daredn’t look without my bra as it made me feel all faint at queasy when I thought about what they’d done. When do you have your 1 week review? Mines on Thursday afternoon. Xx

I had 350cc unders and I had the breast band it’s normally for people with unders to give extra support and to stop the implants moving my higher up the chest. The feet week was awful but you ride it out and get used to it. I felt like it pulled my boobs together too. Xxx

Hi Nikki. My left side has now come out in bruising maybe they were stood on that side of had trouble getting implant in. It still fells heavier like I can feel the inplant where as the right one is fine. I saw the nurse on Monday who said it will feel weird and not to be worried. My wound hasn’t healed yet which I expected so I have to go back again on Tuesday. How you getting on x

I’m hating this band!? I’m in so much pain.. It’s putting so much pressure on my chest and feel like I can’t breath properly.. My left side is so much more painful and swollen, very strange x
