Did anyone's surgeon say to stop taking the pill??

Hi just wondered if anyone stopped taking the pill before their BA op?? I am having mine a week today although meant to be on my pill-free break (not good!!) so I’m thinking about just continuing it…

I had a rhinoplasty and was also told to stop taking my pill 2 weeks before. I did, because I didn’t want any risks. However, I had a BA a year and a half ago (not with mya) and was so happy with results. He didn’t tell me to stop taking my pill and I didn’t have any problems?

I stopped my pill 2 weeks before my op which was my pill free break as well and just started it again last week (I was off it for 4 weeks) x

Thanks girls. My surgeon did not tell me to stop taking it but my nurse asked me if he did :S maybe I’ll check with my coordinator!!? Has anyone been on Yasmin and didn’t need to stop taking it before op?! X

yes mine and I haven’t gone back on yet lost half a stone from my bum without doing any exercise!! woohoo condoms now rock

The pill thickens your blood and increases the risk of blood clots. Thats why they always recommend that the pill is stopped before any type of surgery.

I had a blood clot from the pill myself when i was 19. Not due to any surgery, just coz of the pill itsef… I would therefre advise all girls to stop the pill for 1 or 2 weeks before and after surgery.

My PC said to keep taking it unless mr C told me to stop :S confused ?!?!

I’d stop taking it, but its totally up to you. x
