Disapointed with MYA!! Started by: sarahlou21

I had my breast enhancement surgery a little over a year ago. I just felt I have to write about my experience with MYA as at present I am not happy with the service I have recieved.

Since my surgery in April 2010, I have only been asked to return for one check up which was at 6 weeks post op. At this 6 weeks check up they failed to tell me that my surgeon Mr Mahdi had left the company and was not able to see me for my check up. Instead when I was shown into the surgeons office I was greeted by a completely different surgeon who had no idea who i was or even what surgery Id had.

Further more, my 6 week check up wasnt even scheduled properly so the surgeon who I had my check up with had none of my patient and surgery notes at hand. He didnt know anything of my medical background or surgery notes and couldnt give me a full and proper check up. I was not offered another appointment where a surgeon would have my notes at hand. I found this utterly disgraceful. My whole check up took about 10 minutes and this is all I have been given since my surgery.

Lately I have been experiencing severe pains in my right boob and after trying for 2 days to make an appointment for a check up, today I was told I would have to wait an entire month. This is just not acceptable, us girls pay a great deal of money for our BAs we deserve to be given the aftercare quickly and promptly what we have paid for when needed. I told the lady on the phone who didnt seem to know what the hell she was doing, that I was in a lot of pain and needed to see a surgeon sooner. The quickest I can be seen is in 2 weeks time :(

My whole experience with MYA has not been the best. I feel as though once payment was made I have been left to just get on with things. Their aftercare service is terrible in my opinion and I deeply regret not going with another company with a better aftercare package. Their staff, in particular the PCs I have found to be very un professional and resemble more of a sales team than personal co-ordinators.

Sorry to ramble on but I am just so annoyed with MYA and the way they treat post op patients. They seem only interested in getting girls to pay for the surgery and not entirely concerned with offering the aftercare which is included in the price we all pay.

If you can’t get anywhere with MYA, I would just go to your doctors and ask to have a scan. I can’t remember what scan in particular you’ll need, but the doc will know. It will rule out anything like capsular contracture etc. xx

Oh dear hun, two weeks doesn’t seem good enough. I know what you mean about the sales team and have heard a lot of girls say that once their money was paid they didn’t feel that they were being priortised anymore. You’re right, we pay a lot of money and should feel that we are being well looked after.

If you are in pain you should phone them again and try speaking to someone else to get an appointment sooner. Really hope it works out for you xxx

Thanks girls, im just a little upset with the way I have been treated.

Although their aftercare isnt up to scratch I have been so happy with my new boobs i just love them. I just wish I had been given a proper aftercare service in particular now when I feel like its really needed. Id hate for anything to go wrong with them, I just wish theyd make their post op patients more of a priority.

    Thanks again girls xxx

Hi sarahlou21,you sound so upset, you poor love, did you not think to contact the company when they didnt get in touch with you,its an awful long time since your BA,I would have been worried sick after a couple of months and contacted them myself.I would have needed to know everything had healed properly, you cant put a price on your health. But that’s just me honey,I worry.Plus I am no spring chicken so I double checked on my appointments, hope you get something sorted honey, big hugsxxx

My PC has also left MYA, her name was Amy. I have not been told the name of my new PC so I have no idea who it is and didnt know who to ask for when I rang the clinic. When I rang up and spoke to somebody at the clinic I think it was just the receptionist.

Thanks Tina how do i message the moderator, Im not familiar with this forum i usually use the sofeminine forum.

Looking back in hindsight I know I should have been more persitant in making sure my appointments and checkups were scheduled correctly and I should have made sure I had the necessary check ups to make sure I was healing properly. But I was just so happy to finally have my boobs and at the age of 21 which was how old I was when I had the surgery, I think I was a little niave in thinking everything was ok. I didnt really think of the things that may go wrong. Its only now looking back, now that I have a problem with them that I realise I should have made sure I was checked up properly and how important the aftercare is.

Having said this, I also believe that its a two way street. Staff at MYA should make their post op girls more of a priority.

I shouldnt have to check and double check that my appointments are confirmed, I have paid a great deal of money for my PC to do that for me and esnure my appointments are kept and at the very least, my medical records and surgery are always available for any check up I may have.

Us girls pay huge amounts of money and aftercare is included in the price we all pay, we want to feel we are being looked after.

I am just saying that my experience of the MYA aftercare service has not been a good one and topped off with a two week wait for a check up having tried for 2 days for an appointment i feel is a disgrace. The waiting time for my initial consulataion was only 2 days and I even met my surgeon at my first consultation. That in itself shows where their priorities lie.

Until now I have been very happy with my boobs, no problems at all. I just want the same service now that I was given when I first booked my surgery.

I almost wish this had been highlighted by someone about 2 months ago before I paid my deposit and now only have 2 weeks to go.

I really do hope the company can pull their socks up and realise that this is a big deal for a lot of women, we are all putting our trust into a company that specialises in this type of surgery.

COME ON MYA, PULL YOUR FINGER OUT AND GET SOMEONE TO CALL SARAHLOU21 AND GET HER SEEN A LOT QUICKER THEN 2 WEEKS TIME!!!

    THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I hope that this topic on the forum gets MYA to deal with you correctly Sarahlou21. There is no excuse for a two week wait, as you had mentioned pre op you are able to get an appointment following day or that same week. Good luck hun. XXX
