I have been here since 10am this morning, and had not eaten for 6 hours before that as instructed. Was first on list for surgery and everything right up till after the op was timely and faultless. However, NO ONE BOTHERED to order or make me any dinner!! When I complained that I’d had nothing to eat (at 7pm!)I was brought a HAM sandwich, even though it’s clearly written on my notes that I’m veggie!! So instead the catering lady (who was at the end of her shift and clearly peed off at having to do something extra) brought me some dry toast and 2 butter pouches, but just left them on side so I couldn’t do anything with the toast as couldn’t lift arms very far!! Had to wait for boyfriend to come back and do it for me, by which time toast was cold!
At 9.15PM I called the night nurse and complained that I was starving due to no real food in over TWELVE hours! She said they can’t cook anything fir me but would bring me some soup and a cuppa. She brought them and there is NO MILK for the effing tea!!!!!!!
They warned me this morning that I prob wouldn’t b able to leave until the doctor had checked me over, and that very sorry but he wouldn’t be here till after 8pm… So they KNEW just how ling I’d be in here and that I’d be hungry!
I am fuming, absolutely fuming!
That’s awful hun
After such a stressful and tiring day, you’d think they’d give you some real food to keep your energy up, especially as you’re specifically told not to eat or drink anything for 6 hours prior!
I’ve read a couple like these now and think I’m gonna prepare myself just in case and take some snacks with me… Even though I’m a night case, I can just imagine something similar happening!
I can’t believe they have no milk for the tea – that’d be the thing to piss me off haha xx
Oh babe thats rubbish cold toast and no milk talk about money well spent. Are you staying over night? I hope your ok and hopefully your fab new boobs will make up for it xx
Just worked out that I’ve eaten 2 biscuits, 2 pieces of toast, and 1 small bowl of soup in EIGHTEEN hours!!!!
No I was a daycase and was the first op of the day !!!! STILL HERE waiting for drains out.
there is a few storys on her and they are all quiet similar its terrible hun , hope you are ok … bet you’ll be happy to go home and rest probly
hope you are ok xx
This is so bad! There are too many stories like this, for the amount we are paying we should be.bloody treated well! Sorry you’ve had to go through all this on your special day hun, hope you’re home and feeling better sion xx
Seems like today been a bad day for everyone, did u say you was in highgate hun? xx
Double post
No, Doncaster Park Hill, but yeah i read the ones about Highgate too. I should mention that i had no probs with Mya, none whatsoever with Mr. K, only the hospital staff and lack of organisation or care. They only had 2 BA patient today for god’s sake, imagine what they’re like when really busy!!
I have JUST gotten to the hotel after being discharged….. nearly FOURTEEN HOURS after admission for a day case (first one operated on too!).
I plan to ask Mya for money back as the hospital was so crap. I didn’t pay nearly 4 k for TOAST or to be kept waiting that long.
Ok moan over now. Time for sleep xxx
I think you are completely in your rights hunni, we all get charged the same costs for the operation- and aftercare.
Highgate was fantastic and supplied two hot dinners- this should have been given to you also- you are welcome to use my story to back up your claim if you wish to compare the differences in quality care x
The night nurse actually had the cheek to say that a sandwich is all they offer, not a cooked dinner. So how come Highgate get that? Was it because I was a daycase?
nope I think highgate do both- maybe someone here could confirm?
This is all very disturbing, all hospitals should have the same structure in place when dealing with private patients you have all paid a lot of money, and would expect a standard service, dont worry girls the moderator will be reading this and im sure she will take the complaints to the appropriate persons, lets hope its sorted out quickly as this may put new members of using the service, seems such a shame when all you the surgeons are excellent, that the hospital has ruined your experience, happy healing hun and good luck.
oh hun i am so sorry to hear that your experience with the hospital was shite!! i hope your feeling a bit better today now that you should be home in the comfort off your own surroundings xx happy healing
Have to say there are too many stories like this bout mya, it’s a bit off putting. I had a meeting with the pc Lisa in Bristol, and booked an appointment to see Dr.C for june, but I have to delay my ba til december cos of work. I left lisa a message two weeks ago asking her to give me a ring so we could arrange an appointment for september (i know how busy dr.C gets!) and asking bout naturelles etc…heard nothing back!! am getting the impression they just want your money….I went to transform too, they don’t do a reduction in price for whether you stay overnight or not, nor do nuffield and several others, which is kinda sensible when you think it’s major surgey? i was initially really impressed with MYA, now i don’t know who to go with!!!
newboobies- hope you’re now well fed and recovering well, enjoy your new shape! xx
Had a massive breakfast at the hotel thank goodness! Will be puttin a complaint against the hospital as soon as I get home!
hi newboobies
sorry you had a bad experience, i am having my surgery at park hill dont feel really comfortable about this now, and i am booked as a day case, lets hope it was just a one off, hope yoir ok tho happy healing. xxxxx
omg that is shocking!!!!! and a bit of dried toast?? thats pathetic. u kinda expect it from the NHS but not private where uve paid so much… i had to starve myself night before my c-section ( not good when ur, in theory, feeding 2 mouths haha) and when i got out of theatre they offered me a cuppa tea… later was given option of a lovely jacket potato dinner… when it came it was literally just a jacket potato on a plate looking very dry and shrivelled with no filling, not even butter.. wtf?? hahahah in was like, “mum u need to go get me some food now” hahahahah … but when my son was in hospital the food was amazing, and that was NHS, and the parents got fed too… so why when ur paying £3700, shud u get a bit of dried toast… unacceptable!!! xxx
misspiggy i reckon you will be ok, just be very upfront with them and state as soon as you arrive if you need special meds, if you’re a veggie, that you want food after etc.. anything important. And write a list for you other half/ person going with you so even if you’re asleep when they come into your room, your carer can ask for what you want. I’m hoping I was just a one off and it won’t happen to too many others.
I also had my BA at Park Hill, I too couldn’t eat anything prior to my op, my admission time was 12pm and I went to theatre at 3pm, I was eventually fed at 8am the following morning at breakfast, I can tell you it wasn’t worth the wait either. Looking at the menu in the room I was quite excited about what they were going to serve me for my evening meal but alas it didn’t appear, so had to eat fruit pastiles during the night until they brought me breakfast!
regarding park hill’s lack of service for the amount you paid and that other people who have been allocated different hospitals have received better quality care-
I think you girls need to make a formal complaint- get a number of names/experiences against park hill so that Mya are aware of this; and it should be sorted out and you should have some compensation as this is not the standard of care employed across the board.
You’re right george. As my boyfriend just pointed out as well, jhad he not been with me to prompt them for food etc, i wouldn’t have had anything at all! We really need to get formal complaints in. I am writing mine up as we speak and will be passing to Wanda tomorrow.
Funnily enough I’ve had no call from the nurse or PC yet either (said she’d ring to check on me after my op on Saturday).
Who/ where should we send formal complaints to? Does any one know?
Really worried as im at park hill next month, and im in for a day case. Has many girls experienced problems with park hill? xx
i cant believe that they just left u all that time. I am there in 17days! I will be sure to complain if they mistreat me in that way. Its disgusting. We pay all this money and shouldnt be given anything less than a high quality standard of care. Totally shocking! So sorry to hear you got treat like that love
xx
I would call the hospital ahead of your departure and get them to confirm food options. etc
Laura Jayne I couldn’t fault the staff at park hill they were fine all really nice and chatty, it’s just that they forgot to feed me but I was on oxygen until 2am in the morning so that is probably why and I kept drifting off to sleep all the time
Good point George – all those girls due to go to Park Hill, it’s probably a good idea to do this. However, what they say and what they do aren’t always the same thing, and at the end of the day the hospital should have a standardised level of care that they stick to without us having to check or remind them.
In regards to them “forgetting to feed” patients, for goodness sake this is terrible and inexcusable. It seems to have happened to far too many of us
Hi all
Thank you all for your feedback and as a result we’ll be picking this up with the hospital immediately.
MYA
l had a bad time at hospital group!
1, being picked up in a rust bucket car with petrol cans in the boot not nice when u paid best part of 6k u would expect to be picked up in something decent.
2, On arrival at the hospital got told l was in the holiday inn for the night when l was told by my pc l had a 2night stay due to havin a evening consultation the night before my op with my new surgeon
As soon as they get there money the customer service ends. l sent a letter of complaint. Lucky the suregery went ok good job really. xx
Have to agree in regards to customer service ends after you pay
MYA moderator – Good to hear it, let’s see what comes of this.
Hi i am having my op on the 24th of june at park hill..which doctor did you have it done with?
Mr. Kazzazi, but he was brilliant, no qualms with him at all… must make that clear !! xx
Mya,
I think this would be great to look into it seems the park hill hospital is somewhat tainting your excellent service; I must say holborn and Highgate in London have been superb and I was very happy with the service and I feel sorry for the ladies who did not also recieve this level of accomodation and care.
The forum is great for this reason also as it helps us understand what other pstients have been treated like. xx
I am havin my done with Dr Kazzazi. They didnt change for date or anything because i have heard they do that sometimes.wot size have u gone 2 x
I’m not really sure of size atm. Filling a 34D sports bra, but that might change when the swelling goes down x
Did they mess u around with your date or anything?x
