Disgusted with MYAs patient treament after they recieve your money!!!!!

Before MYA recieves your full payment, they are as nice a pie, constantly contacting your, reassuring you, all that caper…but once they op was done (I paid for mine before the op)I was no longe a priority…..I had a BA and uplift in July, I had a 3 week check up and a 5 week check up…but NOTHING ELSE!!!! I was told MYA would contact me to arrange my 3 month check up….this did not happen….I called up was told there were no appointments with my surgeon until december, which would make me 5months post op….I was told on the phone, by an untrained person that if I dont feel there are any problems there probably isnt!! Well neither she, nor I no thqat for certain! Anyways I was on my way to attend the 5month checkup, I had missed uni lectures, and rearranged my sshift at work to fit this meeting in, and on the way I get a call cancelling my appointment! I still have no made an appointment! This is actually rediculous and the way Im feeling now, I feel like going to watch dog or something because I feel totally messed about! I hope no one else had this disgusting and embarrassing situation caused by MYA! Thought Id share my story on here, because maybe if id of seen a few more of these I would have chosen a company that would not forget about me and my medical needs after the balance has been paid!

Wow I havn’t heard many stories like this for MYA. Sorry you didn’t receive the care you should have. Personally I couldn’t fault MYA, my PC stayed in contact after my surgery rang me about 4 times checking I was okay every couple of days. Nurse also rang me the day after op and a few days later same day as PC to check everyhing was okay. My post op appointment was booked by nurse before I had my op and my 6 week one with surgeon was booked by my nurse last week. Bumped into my surgeon at the clinic when I saw nurse. He recognised me straight away and came over to check I was okay and happy and had a friendly chat. I paid weeks before my op. So sorry you couldnt have had the same experience with them, are you happy with the result of your op? x

Well I am glad you got what you paid for. I am totally happy with the result, but that was the skill of the surgeon, not anything to do with the actually service MYA provides, or fails to provide in my case! Its just upsetting, that they feel its acceptable to leave me for 5months with no medical attention at all. And having had an uplift too there is a lot more that can go wrong that with a BA alone.

oh and i have also recieve no before and after pics! this causes great upset to me also. they dont even think oh she might want to see them, even though I have asked for them! it seems to me that either you were a lucky case or i was an unlucky one, either way MYA have let me down big time! sorry for the rant xx

You have a right to rant! It’s bloody expensive so you expect great treatment. Yes extremely happy with the result. Exactly what I asked for, so glad after everything at least you are pleased with yours too xx

Hi Christy, so sorry to hear that, i have excellent treatment and after care from MYA, I have got my 6 week post op soon and looking forward to reciving my before and after pics. i have recommended them to loads of my friends and would defo recomend them to anyone. sorry chick…..maybe email them about your expirence as it is alot of money you should get your moneys worth xx

MYA have hundreds of clients, I guess every now & then one slips through the net & you dont get a call reminding you of an appointment. Also before/after pics maybe taking some yourself would have been a plan Iv been taking some every couple of days so I can see how they progress & keep an ‘diary’ if I have any complications.

If you are happy with your new boobies then try not to stress . Im sure if you said there was something wrong they would have been able to see you sooner. As you are fine you are not a priority I guess *shrugs*

Like you I have crap after care with mya!! I havnt seen anyone since 1 week post op. I was told someone would be in contact with me to arrange my 6 week check and that I would also see my surgeon at 12 weeks post op. Well by 8 weeks post op I hadnt heard anything so I rang my PC to be told that I wouldnt have a 6 week check unless I felt there were any problems (which I didnt) and that my surgeon wouldnt be in the clinic until 31st Jan!!! By this time I’ll be 24 weeks post op. Well I then got a hpone call last week from the nurse stating I needed to have my 6 week check up….which is totally different from when I contacted my PC at 8weeks…when I questioned this she stated they need to take photos before I see my surgeon….so now there chasing me as they should have taken at my 6 week check. Well unfortunatly I’m so tied up and busy at the moment I’m not willing to male the 1hr 20 mins drive just to have photos taken tht should have been taken weeks ago!!! Aftercare with MYA inmy experience has been terrible xx

i hav had a gr8 experience with MYA so far,

my PC Deborah and my nurse Kath hav been fab.

Deborah which i 1st met bk in febuary kept in touch with me all the way until now (Dec) as i had problems getting a loan,she would always inform me if they had offers goin, dates an everything an she was always polite an proffesional (always felt comfortable around her) an the best thing was she got me a loan with MYA so i finally hav my boobies

…also i had a little upset about the size of my boobs (post op blues) the day after my op an phoned kath who tried to get me not to worry jst yet as it is still early day.

she then (off her own back) spoke to my PC Deborah an told her i was upset so Deborah then rang me which i thaught was lovely, she re-assured me about all my worries as she had also had a BA an been through it all.

My surgeon Dr chantrasak has been gr8 too,he is rather quiet bt says what he has to say, he has done a gr8 job on me as no complications as of yet (fingers crossed)

today i also had my 1wk post op an stitches out which went well an i was agen made to feel welcome an in safe hands by my nurse Kath, i had written down a few q’s which she went through with me no probs an ensured me that if i ever need to speak to them about anything (size,shap,pain ect) that her an Deborah would only be at the other end of the phone

Overall i hav had a gr8 experionce with MYA an would deffinatly reccomend them to anyone looking to hav surgery

Again trivial things. If you felt it was important to have a 6 week check then you should insist on one, you paid the money so you are entitled.

Aftercare for me is about the care/treatment you receive if you have a complication. Not that they haven’t taken photos.

Altarbie – exactly its about the aftercare we recieve!! Photos are of no importance to me as I have taken my own. I didnt feel it was important to have my 6 week check as a nurse myself I had no worries about the wounds healing etc….I just think it irresponsible that they dont keep to their word and follow clients up…as this is a private clinic not the NHS!!! and although their were no complications, I would have liked to see my surgeon for a 12 week check and was told that I would not be able to see him until the 31st Jan!! We pay for a service and whether we have a complications or not aftercare should be provided atleast by the standard basic measures of a 6 week check and 12 week check with the surgeon as stated before the op!!!!

Naty128 – is Kath still at the clinic? As I was told by Deborah she had left is one if the reasons I had not been contacted for my 6 week check.

Sorry to hear this christy, has anyone contacted you about this since? Theres a few things like this happening lately hun so its not just you. You really do need to be checked on though seeing as u had an uplift too.

Hi christy I agree with you, I’m having my op on Sunday and l ow hardly anything!!! I know they say 6 days before but I have a son who I need to get looked after and can’t sort nothing until I know, called today and should no by Friday!!! I agree with the paying I had phone calls tx’s before I paid and since I paid nothing. Had my pre op and to be honest wasn’t really happy wasn’t sure on size and wanted bit of help and got zero really!!! I know my surgeon is good at his work and was really friendly so I’m not to bothered but to be honest now wishing I went else where. Hope you get it all sorted xxx

Transform cosmetic did this to me also, i never had the check up after 5 months. I got cancelled on twice, then the surgeon left the company.

i only demanded to go back when i noticed my left boob was a bit oddly shaped, but i got fobbed off by the surgeon who said theres nowt they can do. Thet dont care once u have paid!! plus i had recommended 2 girls so i was owed 200 pound, which took 8 months to get when it should have taken 1 month. x

Naty128-sorry the old nurse was sue…..dnt no where I got Kath from!!! She’d left thats why my appointments wrnt as they should have been.

Hi Ticky, went to have my “6week” check today with the new nurse all is ok and got my before and after pics. Still seeing my surgeon on the 31st, apparently hes not coming to the Cardiff clinic very often anymore which is why I have had to wait so long…..which was only explained to me today….clients are having to travel to birmingham or london for consulations with him now…but hes a great surgeon so people are more than willing to travel. Still happy with my results, hows things with you? xx

Alilou, which surgeon did you have? I only ask as i’m through Cardiff too with Kath and Deborah and my OP is next week with Dr Chantarasak.

When I saw him for my consultation they told me he only comes to Cardiff once a month.
