Dissolvable stitches question

Hi girls just wondering how long it took for ur stitches to dissolve? I’m 11 days PO and can still feel the spiky stitches on the outside. Thanks xxx

I don’t know how long it’s expected to take Hun but I couldn’t feel anything at all… I know I defo had the dissolvable ones. Couldn’t even see or feel any when my strapping was removed on day 7. Hope someone on here has the answer for you. xxx

Dissolvable stitches can take up to a few weeks to dissolve, especially if the knots are still intact, these take the longest to dissolve. Your body may just be breaking them down a bit slowly but it’s absolutely nothing to worry about! 🙂 any little bits left will drop off as the scar heals up x

Thanks Hun, I had uplift too so got a lot more stitches than normal BA it’s just a few edges poking out . Xx

Yeah definitely nothing to worry about, with an uplift too the area where the scars meet each other is the furthest away from a bloody supply so that can take a lot longer to heal too, happy healing sweetie! X

I had little bits of stitch pop out for ages!!! I even had a little one poke out at 12 months po!!! I wouldn’t worry unless they get sore and red they just work themselves out x

I had some spikey stitches sticking out, so the nurse at MYA trimmed them down which made a big difference x
