Do Mya re-imburse you for taxi funds? How long does it take to recieve?

I had to pay 110 pounds in cab fare to manchester for pre-op scared i wont recieve it back? does anyone know if they do and how long it takes? Im skint!

Did they say that they would reimburse you honey,if they did it may take a while,I think with any company when cheques are raised they will have to be approved,and this does unfortunately take time.xxx

Tbh I’ll be seriously hacked off if they did as my expenses for travelling back and forth from West Cumbria to Manchester have been astranomical and I was told I couldn’t claim anything back??!!!

They did an they have pheww! My pc has sorted it all for me very relieved! Xx

ayshababy I feel the same as you. However, I did ask if I could be re-imbursed and was told “NO” – feel like screaming I am so F U C K E D off right now, cannot believe it!!!!!!!!

Of course your entitled to travel expenses! I would contact your pc and ask about this might just be miss communication? X

Why did they say no? Even for train tickets?? The taxi I had to get was an emergency and they told me I wouldn’t receive it all back aswell . I would… have you kept receipts? x

No, no receipts now but I live in West Cumbria and had to travel by train every time and they knew this! On of the times I had to travel my PC didn’t even turn up for my appointment

Im going to get something in writing to them now and Im fed up of feeling like crap about it all! x

I have been told that I can claim back my travel expences each time I go to Birmingham but this is because my nearesr clinic in Nottingham and they have no nurse at the moment…. Saying that, I have emailed my PC asking how I claim it back over a week ago and she still hasn’t replied!!

OK daft question probably but with your pre-op and post-op checks, do you have to go back to where you had the op done or is it just your nearest clinic?? xx

I went to the nearest clinic,and re travel I think that you can only claim it back under special circumstances,I calculated the travel costs when planning the surgery,as the post op appointments to me,were crucial I needed to have peace of mind knowing everything was healing as it should be.I worry.xxx

You’re right Tina the post op appointments are also very important to me. However Im not sure how MYA would define “special circumstances” seems to me it’s those who shout the loudest that seem to get it and there’s alot of favouritism around it. I am hacked off when I asked on numerous occassions to be told “no” and now find out that people have had travel expenses. To me, that’s just not fair!! Anyways, that’s all Im saying about it now as I’ll take it up with them xx

Yep PinkJade it’s happening again. MYA mod will be on in a minute to say that they don’t re-imburse travel but it’s obvious that they do (to some people anyways)!! I totally understand that if you don’t ask you don’t get but I asked all the time as my expenses were getting ridiculous!

Feels like ppl are having a dig at me to be honest??! As I stated I had to get a taxi as it was an emergency so that’s why I had my travel re-imbursed most probably as was a special circumstance. Not that I have to explain that anyway.

I don’t think anyone was making a dig at you. It’s just not fair that Mya offer certain things to certain people and not everyone.

this is disgusting i had to pay extra travel expenses due to my surgeon no longer going to my local clinic so i had to travel over an hour longer to see him resulting in me having to pay more in petrol, money which i couldnt really afford at the time, mya shouldnt have one rule for one and diffrent for another this is totally unfair. MYA MODERATOR why arnt you clearing this issue up!! xx

Hey sarsar I certainly wasn’t having a dig at you. As I said earlier I’m happy for you that you were reimbursed. This forum is for us girls to help each other and offer support to each other. We are merely stating that it’s totally unfair that people are treated differently, we should all be treated as equals. It’s good that you brought it to the attention of the forum tbh x

Sarsar!! They are deffo not getting at you. The comments are aimed at mya. There seems to be an inconsistency. We are all skintight after our ops and we are sensitive about all the money we have spent. I didn’t go with mya. I paid 5400 and have travelled hundreds of miles to attend my pre and post op screenings and no one ever mentioned travel costs I just presumed I had to bear those costs! The girls are pleased you got a refund really! It’s helpful especially at Christmas time when we r all spendy!!! Be happy sarsar xxxxx
