Do u smoke?

I have a 20 a day habit bad i know! will i be expected to ditch the fags before the op? seriously dont think i couid within the month!

Yeh, i think they say to give up 2 wks b4 hun?? Or maybe cut-down? I’m a smoker-so i know how hard it is!

I smoke between 12-14 a day. Have u tried patches or anything else?

Hey hush, im smoker as well (about 10ish a day) and my surgeon told me to give up smoking 2-3 weeks before op and 4 weeks after op. He said if I didn’t he wouldn’t do the surgery. Not looking forward to it as I feel im not ready to give up but new boobs means more to me than carrying on smoking and putting them at risk. x

It is possible i have smoked 20 a day for 16 years, I stoped 2 weeks before the op and I have not touched once since and im now 2 weeks post op!!! I am going to stay off them now so i will save myself loads of money and be healthy too!!

I did not think it was possible and i worried about it so much but The boobs were far more important than the fags

I smoked 10-15 a day bensons now gone on2 silk cut smooth ha tryin to have no more than 5 aday but got 4 weeks till op finding it really hard 2 just stop xx

I just went cold turkey!! I was worried about all of the things that could go wrong and that worried me more than not smoking!! If you can I would defiantly give up hun its not worth it. Also you will be more prone to infection as it akes the wound longer to heal something to with what smoking does to the blood. I think it takes all of the oxygen out if it.

no i did not get snappy, i spent loads of time online chatting to girls on here i also prepared loads of things for after the op etc i just kept myself really busy.

what i would do is everytime you need a fag just have 1 drag then put it out then keep that same fag then the next time you want a drag light the same fag and have another drag you will come to the point when you just dont want a drag on a fag. lol

Heeeey girls. I’m a smoker, and I had a fag the morning of my op. I cut down a week before but didn’t stop. It hasn’t seemed to have effected me, but I haven’t touched one since op and dont really feel like one, and I’m quite a heavy smoker. It doesnt help that my boyfriend and brother in laws smoke though. I can smell it haha. Just try to cut down…smoking isnt gonna make them fall out but it will prolong the healing process. I’m in a bit of pain at the moment so I cant imagine making it any longer than necessary. Do not panic though, smoking isnt good but it wont be the end of the world for your op x x x

I think 20 a day is quite enough. i think 2-3 a day is normal and also good for health. i am also a smoker but i smoke only 2-3 cigarettes a day.

Argh I’m with you ladies!!! My ops on the 15th….kinda told the nurse it was only 10 a day but it’s more like 20+ petrified of dying under GA and boobs going wrong!!! I’m meant to be stopping today…..will let you know how it goes the incentive for me is my boobs plus I calculated 6.30 x 365 and realised if save £2299!!! That’s a lot of clothes to dress my new boobs!! The patches stop my cravings I would strongly suggest them it’s the habit I can’t stop, like after food, break at work, I’m going to get a fake cig like one of the ladies said and puff on that instead GOOD LUCK GIRLS xxx

I smoked 20 a day and i was told i had to quit for 6 weeks b4 he’d even consider doing the surgery. i quit for 8 weeks and booked in for the 15th april for my op but iv started again over past 2 weeks!!!!1 i am going bk on the patches tomorrow so atleast that will be 2 weeks without fag b4 my surgery!!!! i was bit scared tho that smoking will effect how they heal etc!!! x

i used to smoke loads but was getting pure yellow teeth and wana get a beach bod by summer so smoking fooked my lungs no way could i work out while smoking so i quit one day never touched them since then i had my teeth whitened and couldnt be happier xxx

I did not cut down or anything, it constantly played in the back of my mind, which made me smake more. Some surgeons wont operate if you smoke, Mr singh does. I carried on smoking after op, this could delay my healing but i am 1 week tomorrow and have not had any pain, dont need pain killers. Cant believe how easy it has been so far…I cam out of surgery at 12 noon, and had ciggie at 3pm. oops. I am naughty, always was that little rebel, lol. 37 years later and still am hee hee. x
