Do you get to speak to the surgeon before the op? worried about implant size! Started by: Jennabelle

I was offered a few implant sizes I chose the biggest which was 380, they actually did look the best when I tried the implants in the bra as I’m quite broad shouldered and can carry off a bigger size.

Mario said I’m a 34B now and he said I’d be able to go to a D, although I always wear a 36C and think I look about a C, Mario even told me I have quite a lot of breast tissue.

I went back to ask some questions last week and now he said I can have between 340-380 but he would decide in surgery and he is deciding whether to give me unders or overs in surgery too because he can’t tell how big my muscle is.

I’m a little worried that I’m not going to know what I’m getting until I wake up after surgery. Do you get to speak to the surgeon before the op? I want to ask if I can go for the 380s I know it’s not much but with me being quite broad 40g won’t be noticeable right?

    Any suggestions? xxx

Yeah the surgeon comes to see u before u go to theatre, he draws on you an gets u to sign a consent form. 40cc isn’t really that much, but if it puts ur mind at rest then have the bigger implant. I ordered 325cc and 345cc for the day and when my surgeon came up to see me I asked if he could put the 345cc in, only 20cc difference but I’m happy lol x

Sophie I’m not being given a choice just getting what I’m allowed I have funny boobs and my breast tissue is in the wrong place so the shape of mine are being worked on and I need a donut lift cos my nipples are wrong too (I have no luck ha!)

I’m having to trust Mario to do the best job he can.

What size are you now sophie?

At first I was told overs no other option I spoke to a friend who made me feel like my overs would be fake compared to her natural looking unders so I went back to see mario he can’t feel how thick my muscle is so that’s why he has to decide on overs or partial unders during surgery.

After that I spoke to another friend who has overs that I always thought were unders as they’re natural looking and didn’t feel as worried after that, hers are amazing!

If I had the choice though I’d probably go for unders as they’re more held in place so less likely to sag, less chance of capsular contracture and rippling, less likely to see/ feels the implant.

Not everyone’s the same though I’ve seen some amazing overs since doing my research lol

    Good luck deciding! xxx

I had 340 overs and a donut lift with Mario,he is an amazing surgeon.I did have the choice of under’s but he only offered 280 unders,so I went with the overs to achieve a D cup,my scars from the donut lift are barely visible, xxx

I was worried about cc, rippling etc so I went for the soft touch implants which reduced that risk. I’m also quite broad and was 34b pre op, was originally told 300 by first surgeon and second surgeon said 380 (I swapped to 400 to have the soft touch). I now have the exact boobs that I showed him pics of, I wanted to look a D and now I do (measure 34E/F) – I had overs and can’t see outline of implant at all and mine are extra high projection x
