Ok so ive been reading lots about having to take antibiotics after surgery do you have to or is it optional?

As all antib’s make me super ill. Whenever ive taken them, whether it be for sore throat or whatever they make me so ill.

I get migraine, diarrhea, the sweats, heart palpitations. My doctor thinks im allergic and so avoids them at all costs.

Im sounding like a complete hypochondriac but i dont want silly issues to stop me from having the op.

Like the others said, tell them you’ve had a reaction in the past and see what they say. As it’s just a precaution they may not give you anything.x

Heya hun, I’m allergic to a lot of antibiotics as well. I told the nurse and everyone I spoke to at the hospital about this and they prescribed me something different called Eurythromicin or something like that. I took it for 2/3 days and had a reaction to that too. I just called my nurse and she said to stop taking them and not to worry. They are just a precaution but if you could just get maybe 1 or 2 days worth in you it would be good just to try and avoid an infection. Deffo speak to your nurse and tell everyone at the hospital though and take their advice xx
