Anyone been able to get a doctors note from their GP for a BA? Just wondering as there is no way I’ll be able to get a week off at the place I work! 🙁

Ahh thanks Hun, I think it will be best I ask my p.c! Did you end up having one and which hospital was that at, if you don’t mind me asking? Xx

I was given one from Fitzroy before I left after my breast reduction, I knew my company wouldn’t accept it due to a certain stamp but my GP gave me one with absolutely no issue.

I was offered one at Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester two weeks ago. Think you just need to ask on the day Hun xxx

I was wondering about this as well. I’ve booked two weeks off work but obviously this would be great if I could be paid! Do I just ask for a note at the hospital? Xx

I can imagine Hun, just enjoy the experience as it goes so quickly!
I agree, I don’t think I would want to go back to work after one week. I am two weeks post op today and going back to work tomorrow and still wish I had another couple of days. Maybe I am just getting lazy now lol xxx

Thanks ladies, has anyone had problems with their workplace accepting it, as it’s not GP SIGNED?

Also my biggest fear……..does the sick note state what you’ve had done? I’m a reception teacher and would be mortified if anyone found out!!!!!!!

I booked two weeks off work, because my job is physical I then went to my GP and she signed me off work for as long as I wanted!

I was at Bridgewater in Manchester. MYA won’t give them out, I asked the nurse at my pre-op and she said no so I’d already booked the time off work so didn’t end up getting one off the hospital xx

    Hi Vanessa,

Aww I’m dreading anyone sussing me out…I know it will spread like wildfire if anyone suspects anything!
I’ve got my surgeon consultation the 12th and I’m all ready to book! I’m aiming for half term but like you I’m fearing a week just won’t be enough due to the contraints of the job!

I’d really like it at feb half term as my husband is deployed overseas at the moment and will be back at Easter, so I’m kind of thinking I’d rather not be bed bound for his return date after 4 months apart!!

I am going to call my GP in the morning to ask the question, so I’ll let you know the outcome! 🙂 x

You sound veyr much like me! I’ve got my surgoen consultation on the 22nd and i’m ready to book!
i was going to go for feb but with beign only a week i thought i’d wait for the april one!
please do let me know what the doctor says!
i dont think work would really notice unless of course the doctors note said anything about it!
im hoping il be able to move enough to work and clothes wise il hope they’ll assume im in a padded bra and talking to my friend who i chaperoned, she wear hers non underwired sports bras to work (shes a nursery nurse) as they are way more comfy and supportive so hopefully wont look too different in clothes i dont wear anything low cut anyway!

haha i understand your not wanting to bed bound for his return and i dont want to wait for summer as i want to enjoy them this summer!

sorry for all the typos! haha im actually planning atm too il have to watch my spelling haha xx
