Doctors

I havent been for a consultation yet (still trying to pluck up the courage to go) i have noticed on here a few girls talking about letters from doctors to go ahead with surgery, do mya request medical records or do they tell the doctor that your having ba done?does the doctor contact you to discuss this with you? I personally know a few of the receptionists 2 at my doctors and don’t want them to know that I will be having it done if i do decide to go ahead with it.

MYA must have your permission to contact your doctor hun. They can’t contact them without your say so. They do advise you to tell your doctor, so u can always just make an appointment and tell them yourself, but it isn’t essential. However if your chosen surgeon thinks there is a medical reason to contact your GP, or they require more info about previous medical background, they will want to contact them for the op to be able to go ahead xx

I didn’t have to get a letter from my doctor, MYA just asked for my permission for my medical records to check I had no problems that could affect my operation, which I gave and all I had to do was pay £20 for them to be sent over.

The main reason they ask for your medical records is to avoid any complications in surgery because some people fib about their history! Also if you don’t want the doctors at your clinic to know then you can always join another one; you’re allowed to be registered with 2 I think.

This really wasn’t a big issue for me and I didn’t have any problems, but I guess everyone’s different!

i was asked to get a letter from my gp. i sent them my medical records which my gp printed off for me and they said thats not what they wanted. i have now cancelled my op and wont be going with mya x

i needed my gp to take bloods, but i do suggest that you allow MYA permission to contact them, as there could be something in your history that needs addressed before your op.

i have seen a few girls had to cancel due to mental health issues, so i suggest if you have any of them, present of past, get a letter first xx
