Hi I rang first direct looking for the 0% finance mya is offering and they told me they were no longer lending?? is any one in the same boat??
I think you’ll find with the economy the way it is at the mo the banks aren’t lending like they were last year . They’re just giving themselves big bonuses with tax payers’ bail out money so they’ve not a lot left really to lend.
I read somewhere else that the MYA finance options have decreased/disappeared momentarily but call them and talk to them to find out.
If you need finance have you considered paying for your op on credit card and then transferring the money off that credit card to a 0% credit card? Virgin are doing a 16 month 0% still I think, Alliance and Leicester are 0% for 12 months on their A&L/Santander credit card (and if you use their online switching service to open a bank account with them and switch your direct debits to them and can put in >
Thanks for that but I have a problem im not on the electoral roll so i cant get a credit card yet im gutted I was hoping to get new boobies in march have you had an enlargement hun?
Hi Clareee, you seem quite up on the finance thing…I would really like to pay the whole lot by finance. What will count against me? I have a v.secure job (not really highly paid or anything but very secure) and I have only bought one item on finance which was paid back fully in time. I have been ummming and ahhhing about this for so long that I can’t handle being brave and going all the way to london to be rejected!!
Thanks for your help,
M x
Hi Leah – I’m scheduled for Feb 10th. Have done the credit card thing for mine because that way I can pay flexible amounts back each month. I’m studying so have course payments to make during the year so need to pay those and less to the credit card on those months, if you see what I mean. I budget months in advance tho – I have a running budget on my laptop. It’s great until I just buy a pair of shoes or something. Shoulda got some self-restraint for Christmas 2009 hahahahaa
Hi Madzspurs – if your credit rating’s fine then make your decision to go ahead with the op or not first. If you know you definitely want to, then if you want a loan contact the bank making the best offer (lowest %apr) and see if they’ll lend you the money (they’ll decide whether you can afford to pay the loan back based on your level of income).
N.B. When you put in a request for a loan at a bank, when they process it they do a credit check. Every time your credit is checked it knocks your credit score down a little. So don’t make requests at a number of banks, find the best offer for you first online or from leaflets in banks and then have a chat to someone at the best bank. This is odd, but true and not many people know about it! Its the same when you apply for a mortgage – you should only get a mortgage application processed once you’re sure you want the terms and offer they’re making you or you’re just chipping away at your credit score bank by bank. Stupid financial system!
If you’re interested in the credit card thing, have a look on the Alliance and Leicester website. They have some great offers on at the mo. I subscribe to this actually (as do half my office now LOL): http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ you get regular emails with loads of offers in – all the best high street discounts, 2 for 1 meals at restaurants, best insurances, best financial offers for everything. It’s working wonders for my bank account at the mo
Have a look it’s all completely legit. It’ll point you in the right direction for the best loans and credit cards available at the mo. Just one thing about the credit card thing – make DAMN sure you make the monthly payments on time, and that you can afford to and WILL pay it off. If you keep on top of it then you’re a winner. If not then it’ll cost you.
What are you going all the way to london for anyway, is it to visit the MYA clinic for a consultation?
