Does anyone wish they had their old nose back?

Hi all,

I am booked in to have closed rhinoplasty with Dr Gonschior, I am so nervous but at the same time I can’t wait. When I met with him last month, he said somethimg along the lines of once I undergo surgery I will never be able to get my nose back to how it was, this has really stuck with me and although I hate my nose and always have done I just worry what if I hate my new one more, maybe I am one those people who will never be happy. Anyway I wondered whether everyone felt like this prior to surgery and also whether anyone out there actuallt hates their new nose. Cheers Sophie x

I never once felt worried about this! I prefer my new nose 100 percent more than my old wonky one!

I really hated my nose so I just wanted it gone!

I hate my nose too, have done for over 16 years, just now I’m finally doing something about it I’ve gone and got all doubtful. Did you not have any concerns prior to your op? Can you add me as a friend so I can see your pics please x

Hi it’s perfectly normal to have this doubt . . DR G is just telling you like it is which is a good thing . . u can’t be unrealistic with your desired outcome . . I waited 30 yrs for my op . . and couldn’t wait 2 get 2 surgery . . the hard thing is getting used 2 seeing yourself with this new look having stared at your old face for so long . .I’m only 6 wks post op and still swollen on my right side which I am impatient 2 go down but I must say although I hav gone thru all the same doubts as u I am so pleased I did it . . good luck with every thing and add me and u can see my pics . . xx

Best thing I ever did,and to be honest him telling me he could never get it perfect but he could improve it was an understatement,my nose is beautiful,and a credit to Dr G,the GOD of noses,very very talented surgeon,so yes he can work miracles because he did it for me.xxx

Hey…I’m booked in with Dr G in 2 weeks time and am having exactly the same doubts as you! Sure everyone goes through this and I just keep telling myself that after the op I’ll wish I had it done years ago!!!! I’ll be putting some pics on soon (my nose now and during recovery)as I found it a great help looking at other people’s experiences. It also helped me make my decision to be brave and just go for it.

Hi Sophie!!

I’m 10 days post op, had an open septo-rhino with Dr G at Highgate.

Dr G is amazing. 20 minutes before I went down to the theatre in Highgate, he visited my room and we went through the final details. I couldn’t resist and wanted to show him a picture of Kim Kardashian’s nose so I asked him if I could show him…

He said: ‘You can but its not going to look anything like that’

He doesn’t raise your hopes, he doesn’t feed you false promises and that is exactly the kind of surgeon I wanted.

You are in very good hands my dear…. and the way I look at it: hated old nose, did something about it. Hate new nose? Oh well at least I tried.

Aww thank you all, words of wisdom and reassurance is just what I needed. I am booked in for the 17th May, I just booked a hotel at the weekend and it must have triggered something, prob because it’s non refundable somehow that made it real and the big hole already burnt in my pocket didn’t, some things must just be valued more! Positive attitudes, I like it. X x x

I’ve just come home from open rhino with dr G and am pleased to say I was happy that he was so truthful telling me not to expect perfection. This is so much better than a surgeon not being honest about the outcomes. I’m thrilled with my surgery it’s been a day and I’m not bruised and have no pain at all. Hope all your ops go well. And don’t worry I was petfrified and now I have no idea why. Xx

I can honestly say I’ve not regretted having this done for a second, really love my new nose xxx

Talking of Kim Kardashian’s nose, I took in a picture of Natalie Portman, and Mr G said yes it’s perfect but yours won’t look like that, so much better to have honesty!

You won’t regret it! X

dr gonshcior really is amazing you are in great hands x its only been a few days since my cast has come off and the only thing is i wish that i had the op done years ago good luck e ery one whos having thier op xx
