If you have a medical condition that warrants twilight or regional anaesthetic then yes. If not then most surgeons won’t do it. I was really afraid of going under and I requested TA and RA but they said no but I was totally fine. Only one in 200,000 people actually die under anaesthetic and if you have an allergic reaction then they have something to reverse the effects but it’s rarely used because it affects such a small percentage of people.

Keep calm, you’ll be fine xx

If your scared of the effects, don’t be, I reacted, but it wasn’t huge, or life threatening, and although I’m still suffering now, but I’m one of a few, and we are very far between!

If its for a healing process, ie getting back to work or whatever quicker, it’s not worth the risk. I know in America, they do things differently, and it could be possible to have a GA free BA, but to me, the risks involved in that are huge, with GA you are monitored all the time by a specialist team, with a local, that care isn’t used.

If you have a medical condition that doesn’t allow GA, then that’s something to talk through with a surgeon xx

hun both me and dolly had a convo about it earlier this year before our ops, and we were crapping it completely, but as dolly said its less then 1 in 200,000 that can die from it, and them figures include the old, obese, and very sick people. a lass had posted on here someone died from theres the day of her op, but its complete twodle, as a nurse wouldnt say that to someone!

dolly has now had two ops, her BA and a correction, iv had the one, and i reacted, but it took me over an hour to come back round, i was thrashing around and screaming (i dont remember any of it, i remember begging to be left to sleep on my side as i finally woke up) and now all i want to do is sleep, iv been tested for loads of things, and my doc says its just from the GA as nothing is wrong, he said it can take months to get it out your system, but it usually goes fully in a few weeks xx

Try not to worry. I’ve had 5 ga’s so far and I’m only 26 lol it’s the best sleep you’ll ever have and I love that I go sleep and wake up and it’s all done. I wish more things were done under a ga. my dentist wants to take all my wisdom teeth out and I’ll only have it done under a ga. no way I’m staying awake while they do that!xx
