Hey ladies I’m having my BA op next week on the 19th 450& 550cc overs! I’m just a bit worried about the drains, when do they take them out? I’m staying overnight so will they leave them overnight in or take them out before I go to sleep?
Also should I bring my v shaped pillow to the hospital or do they have everything like that there?
    Thanks

Hi hun, The drains will be taken out the next day and are a pain to take the toilet with you but such a relief to have them taken out 🙂 im 2 days po and already feeling better by the day. Hospital dont have v pillows but have a few pillows to prop you up as its much more comfy to be sat up as it takes the pressure of. Hope your op goes really well and this info helps, good luck xx

@Zoe I had my op yesterday and unfortunately I must say drains are the worst part of this procedure. I hated it and I’m not afraid of pain but seeing sthg being pulled out of me made me actually sick. Otherwise I actually enjoyed the anesthetic which I was originally afraid of and all the experience in general is very smooth and even enjoyable xxx

take some pillows with you Hun, some people recommend using them in the car/taxi so the seatbelt doesn’t rub and for comfort.
the v pillow has definitely helped me get comfy to sleep! As for the drains they are defo the worst part! they are horrible but it’s better that the fluid is drained I think! after that you should be more comfy and can start your recovery:-)
Good luck, wishing you all the best, hope everything goes okay for you xxx

Hi Zoe my op is 19th but at Doncaster. I’m not looking forward to drains either but am sure we will have plenty of local anaesetic in so won’t feel it think it will be more the thought of it x

I was so nervous up to the point of surgery overthinking everything but its like having a baby it happens so quickly and you would do it all over again, just try to keep calm and enjoy the experience ladies, its all worth it in the end xx
