hiya lisa, im having helena next month who uses drains, im a daycase so they will probs remove them before i leave, they put them in b4 you wake up. im not sure about staying overnight they will probs keep them in longer as they help reduce swelling and take away excess fluid so maybe the longer they are left in the better, good luck and enjoy your day! :) x

i went for my op at about 2pm, came round about 6pm and had no idea i even had drains in until i needed the toilet a few hours later. the nurse went to carry everything for me and my right drain was completely empty and fell out without me even noticing. the left side drained quite a lot and stayed in overnight until i left late the next morning. mr kazzazi came to see me first thing and suggested i stay a bit longer, then at about 11am he came back and gave me the all clear. he removed the drain himself and it was really uncomfortable and quite painful. i know most girls dont experience this though. the nurse said it might have become attached after being in so long so caused a lot of pulling. i still get a stitch feeling from where it was but i’ve been told that will ease and eventually disappear. it is actually much better than it was. i think i had a pretty bad experience regarding pain, drains etc but overall i would not change it. i look at my pre op photos and am sooooooo happy ive got lovely new big boobs! x

I had Helena last Weds & i had a drains in. I went down @ 12, Drains were removed about 8 that nt, i was over nt case. It did hurt a little when they come out & i was worrying about the hole were they had been. I go back 2morrow so will see how they have healed. Iwas the only 1 out of 7 that day who had drains, but like gtown said it was worth it & am sooooo pleased with my new boobs Xxxxxx

Hey hun like gtown i didnt realise I had drains until I went to the toilet.

They are long tubes that are inserted in the side of you and they have canisters on the end of the tubes that collect all the blood/fluid etc – sorry if my description is rubbish lol.

I had my op in the morning and stayed overnight so didnt have mine out till the following morning, I can honestly say, hand on heart that they didn’t hurt at all when the nurse removed them, in fact I laughed! :D It’s just a really bizarre feeling xxxx
