hiya girls, ive got my BA in 23 days! just wondering how long it is until you can drive after the op??? xxx
it depends how you feel! i waited atleast 2 weeks but you still have to be careful cos of t xhe seatbelt!
Good question, i was wondering that as well….i don’t know if i can live without my car
xx
lol you’ll be fine, are you going under or over? x
im going under so i no im going 2 be sore! xxx
yer i couldnt move for like a week but deffo worth it! x
well up until this morning i thought i was going under…but i’m not i’m going over so i had a mad panic for a while as i had geared myself up for unders lol…my op is in 9 days so i’v been doing loads of research on overs this afternoon xx
i went with harley medn2 years ago now and i had unders there still rock hard! x
HIya, when I met the nurse last week she said not to drive for 1 week.. Also she said car insurance would not cover you within the 1st week either??? Dont know how true that is??
not to sure about insurance but if you go under you wont wanna drive i was in bed for the first week x
Oh god… i cant be in bed with 3 kids…. hey ho…we will see??
My notes said no driving for 7 days, and nurse said after that be careful of seat belt and only drive when neccessary as imagine what having to do emergency stop would do. I waited until 2wks and 5th gear and reverse was still difficult then.
Yeah they recommend no driving for 7 days, i tried driving after 10 days and struggled to get the car into reverse and 5th gear. from about 2 n half weeks driving has been fine. I had unders. x
Hey
i used to work in car insurance and yes you aren’t covered to drive after an op like that –
you’ll be ok after a week unless you have a doctors note stating your ok to drive any earlier – but i wouldn’t risk it…
you might be the best driver in the world but some idiot could just run into the back of you and if your not covered then you would be payin out ya own pocket for some new boobies again – im defo staying off the road for at least a week
xxx
Thats good advice Tally…as much as i will miss my car, i don’t want to risk my new boobies xx
Hi, i had unders and drove to pick my little girl up from Nursery on day 5 – it was only a small journey, but it felt fine.
Didn’t realise about the insurance part – oops!
xxx
most people don’t… i didn’t realise until i found out through work..
even after smaller operations like septoplasty which i had last month i wasn’t able to drive for 4 days properly due to the anesthetic – i felt fine but i wasn’t covered on my insurance x
if you really really need to drive call your insurance and see what they say – they may ask for a docs note saying your ok xx
