I am finding driving a car really difficult post op (now 10 days), just trying to put on the seatbelt is a task in itself! I now this sounds daft but changing gear is really painful and 5th gear even worse!! Anyone else experience this??

Have to drive twice a day for the school run as live in countryside….arrgghhh….Mind you funny moment was when I opened my boot and could not close (couldn’t reach I’m only 5ft2!), had to wait for postman as neighbour was out to close boot!!!!

Hey tazha, yes the 5th gear is very common, it’s horrible isn’t it!! I drove from my house to uni which is half an hour at the most in 4th gear. My car didn’t appreciate it, and now my gear box is messed up (I wonder why) lol. My advice is before you change to 5th gear lean forward a bit, it stops that weird feeling in your chest and armpit. HOpe this helps x x x
