drowzy and off most food? (PO)

just wondering if anyone else felt very drowzy and went off more complex foods post op? dont know whether its the medication! i can only manage to eat chocolate, chips and bread ! and keep falling asleep mid afternoon – does anyone else have this problem? xxx

Yes, I was sooo sleepy after my op, I just slept for 2 days and picked at junk food. How many days post op are you? x

Same its causing havoic on my skin! and ive developed this crazy phobia of mushrooms! with every meal becoming a feast of chips and mars bars lol. im 5 days post op and hoping i get back into healthy eating soon! xx

hi hun the painkillers combo made me feel drowsy so i stopped taking it i had my son to look after, if i did feel pain i would just take ibruprofen, or paracetamol. instead of the reccomended – ibruprofen, co-codamol and antibiotic all at the same time. as soon as i stopped taking them all together i was back to normal. it makes u ‘cant be arsed’ to do anything – aswell as eat properly!!! what painkillers are u taking? xx

God I’m like this already god knows how I’ll be once I’ve had my op!!! Lol xx

co-drycenol im on babe there terrible! im eating like a 6 year old ! luckily my course has ended now so hopefully im back to normal soon xx

Co-drycenol is wat makes u sleepy I was on that few months ago as I hurt my back, I was a hermit on my sofa for over a week!! Lol xx

Yep I had that too! It will be the tablets ur on n that u just had a op n ur body is tring to recover. If u can sleep in the afternoon (child free or have help) do so. Don’t forget we heal better when we do. It doesn’t last forever girls I promise xx

i really dont know how those with kids are coping with it! at least we all get back to normal soon – thanks for the reassurance! xx

I’m 6 days PO and I’m the same – have been drowsy half asleep every afternoon! And I cnt eat much it makes me feel sick or nauseas, so just been eating little and often! I thought it was jus me being a wimp! I don’t really feel up 2 doing anything ! I’m jus takin my antibiotics,ibruprofen, and paracetomol! As the codryemol or whatever its called was making me a walking corpse I cudnt keep my eyes open… And the other antiinflamatory made me sick for 2 days!! It was horrible lol…. Xx

hiya your not alone, i had this aswell, i had to go for a nap on the afternoon and didnt eat anything areally as i just wasnt hungry at all. it was defo the meds as i was fine when they got out of my system. I kept feeling not all there aswell during the day……..it was a horrible feeling, so dont worry it will go hun
