hi girls do you know the name of the drugs we are given post op for pain relief?

im starting to get really worried as i have crohns disease and spoke to my IBD Nurse this morning who told me i cant have any drugs with ‘profen’ in the name, also i have to be really careful with laxitives, it sucks but i cant afford to have another relapse. AHHHHH! please help girls. do you think they will be able to give me any other non steriod pain relief or some with steriods in it. x

I had co-drydomol. Made me as sick as a dog, so went to paracetamol.

The MYA nurse will advice Ibuprofen as it helps reduce inflation, so that’s the one to avoid.

Profen drugs are hard for the kidneys to process, so that’s why you’ve

been told to avoid them.

You can alternate codeine and paracetamol (co codamol is when they are mixed together) but take them separate to spread your pain relief out xx
