Any tips for me girls post-op?
I’m so confused about what support bra to get. I’ve heard good and bad for a Macom, Tesco’s has been mentioned, Asda, M&S and Royce too.
I’ve ordered two gel cool/heat packs in prep for the swelling. Anything else needed?
Hi stuckeya
I really couldn’t recommend the m and s zip up front high impact sports bra I have 2 macoms and 2 of the m and s ones and I never wear my macom now the m and s ones are so comfy and so supportive what I would recommend though is going up atleast 1 size in the back and a cup size or two from what size you told you surgeon you want ie I’m a 34b and asked to be E cup so I bought a 36e and a 38e and I have to say actually I find the 38 more comfortable but I often sleep in the 36. You could always go and try
One on pre op to see how it feels! Xx
Thanks Scarlett9, good point. I didn’t realise I could try one on pre-op, I’ll ask. How did you find yourself when you work from surgery? What days were the worse for you?
I was surprised the pain was ok I think I worried it would be much worse, I really recommend taking the paid medication they discharge you with until it runs out as it does keep you on a level plain! Once I finished it it was ok i would say rest for day 1 and 2 as you’re quite out of it and gradually build up movement and activity day 3 +. Day 5 was worse for me but I think it was pain in conjunction with being bored and fed up! But it gets better. I’m now over two weeks post op and feel fine just mild bruise type pain still but that gets better everyday. Back to work now after two weeks off after my surgery gutted hahaha I was quite liking being a lady of leisure!! Try not to worry yourself too much as it was not half as bad as the nightmare I was conjuring up in my head! Xxx
Thanks scarlett9. I’ve read many stories on here where people have had a good experience, there are some that have suffered with being on antibiotics a lot more than others and some been in real pain, but the majority are really positive. I guess it depends on your pain threshold (think mine is good coz when I had my son, I was induced twice and then had contractions on and off for 48 hours but never got more than 3cm, had to have an emergency c-section in the end, but I took it all in my stide). I, fact, I spend 2 days walking up and down the hospital corridor with gas and air all thru the day and nite and one of the other girls said to me, your either really hard or you have a high pain threshold, so i’m hoping this op will be a breeze (famous last words). My son is now 7 and his dad is going to care for him whilst I have a whole 7 days to rest. Thanks for your honesty xx
Yeah your right hun everyone is so different in how they react to pain and medication! Promise to get my pics up later so you can see some results as by sounds of it I was similar size to you pre op and had 470s! This forum really helped me before I had my op so it’s nice to be able to return the kindness! Xxxx
Hey Hun I have my op in two days so im just packing my bag today so just thinking what i need too! I have two sports bras from tesco in two sizes incase i decide with bigger impants on the day lol. There only £4 and really soft material and dont look too bad when on either! (yes iv stuffed socks in to try lols) The ice/heat pack thing is a good idea iv also bought some shypo allergenic sanex shower gel for the day before and for after my op so i dont irritate my scars.
I have also booked myself in the hairdressers 3 days after my op just to get my hair washed and blow dryed ! As i figured i wouldnt be able to to it myself and thought it would be a nice treat . I have all the other stuff like, face wipes, toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, a book, phone and charger, dressing gown, oh and pjs that fasten up the front !
I hope this helps and good luck hun
xxxxx
Thanks girlies for the info. Casey1, the sanex shower gel can’t be used for a while after the op, well you can clean your bottom half of the body but not the top, you can’t get your new boobs/scars wet until the scars are/have healed for a good few days, maybe even a week. Good idea re booking the hairdresser. Good luck for your op, keep us posted and I hope it’s relatively pain free for you hun xx
