Hi All, we have had some feedback from our Medical Director on this for you:

Silicone sizers are simply temporary prostheses used by surgeons as a guide to put the appropriate silicone implant size in. They are generally used only in exceptional circumstances; firstly when there is difficulty in deciding what implant to use pre operatively, mainly in patients with breast asymmetry, that is when the breasts are of unequal sizes and the surgeon tries to correct this. Secondly, generally speaking, surgeons with enough experience in breast augmentations do not need and do not use implant sizers because with their experience and with 3 dimensional measurements they are normally able to decide and agree with the patient on implant sizes during the consultation, when a decision about the operation is made. Frankly speaking, they are used routinely for breast augmentation by less experienced surgeons, especially bearing in mind that they have a cost and there are problems with sterilisation.

These sizers are manufactured by the Eurosilicone company, as well as Allergan and possibly other companies and it is not necessary that when you use these sizers you force the surgeon to use implants produced by the same company because the range of their shapes is very limited.

    We hope this helps.
