Does anyone have any advice on doing chest exercises after having a BA (under the muscle) I’m wanting to start weight training and doing things that work the chest such as press ups, bench work etc, I had my op about 2 years ago, but i’m worried to start incase I damage my implants!

Thanks for replying. I read a few posts on body building websites and a lot of the women on there had said that they didn’t do isolated chest exercises anymore such as bench press because it can cause the implants to move towards the armpit and can also increase the risk of them ‘bottoming out’ or rupturing so I started to get really worried! One woman had to have revision surgery after 5 years of weight lifting cause she over did it and hers ruptured. I just didn’t want to increase the chance of damaging my prize possessions, but really want to exercise like I would have done before the op!

Yeah I have read that too – I think it depends how hardcore you are going to do just your chest. I am going to just do gentle and see how it goes? Do you have a p.t at your gym can you ask them? Or maybe ring the nurse? X

Is that just wih unders? Or the same for overs? My mate s a hardcore pt and does loads of chest exercise, she has overs because if her job. Should we be careful with overs too? X

I’m gonna ring the nurse to see what their advice is. Dana do you mind me asking why you’re having overs this time? Good luck with your op 🙂 I think it is different with unders cause the pectoral muscles have been cut into and are stretched over the implant, overs just sit over the muscle and can move. jodie marshes are def overs, she had losds if boob fat to start with. when I’ve tried a few chest exercises it feels really weird cause the implants contract with the muscles. Another worry even if it doesn’t cause them damage is that they may feel harder if I strengthen my chest too much! I’m still undecided :-/
