    Hey ladies!

I realize that exercise is a no-no for at least six weeks (so I’ve heard?!) post-op, how have people managed with this?! I run at least 5K everyday and am struggling with the idea of not doing any exercise for six weeks. Is fast-walking allowed? What have other ladies done to maintain fitness post-op? Suggestions greatly appreciated! :)

I am currently 11 days post op, and have done a couple of light cardio sessions (Bike)in the gym, plus a couple of long walks. I would no way be up for anything else at the moment, but have to keep moving. Will start off with gentle weights once 6 weeks are up and then increase back to normal pre-op regime.

It is a killer with no exercise, but listening to your body and getting plenty of rest is the key. I think some gentle cardio would be ok as long as you feel up for it – as long as you dont use your upper body….( I still dont feel ok doing abs or anything like that!!!)

Surgeon told me that walking is actually good for u afterwards. When I go back to work(week later) il be walkin to and from work every day (hour walk in total).

As long as ur boobs aint jiggeling around too much then I think its all good! Xx

Betty, I would say running would be a definate no no…In all fairness, your boobs most likely wont be painful, but sensitive, sore and very un-comfy – running will probably be the last thing you’d want to do,…lol

My op went really well, not painful, but finding now post up, that evenings are the time of day that makes my boobies most uncomfortable,…which is a bummer!!!!!! I know what yuou mean about the summer thing, hence i did mine now – gives me a SLIGHT chance of getting into shape before bikini season!!!

hi girls im 5 weeks post op and I have been running! I bought a shock absorber sports bra which has been great!! I have been fast walking for about 3 weeks and now im back to running only about 2 miles though they start to ache after any longer. The surgeon said that im now ok to run and use the gym i saw him at 5 weeks post op as there were no appointments 6 weeks post op, basicly i think they want you to see the surgeon before exercising so he can check everything is ok first.
