Fake Tan , acrylics, and contraceptive pill…..??

Hey Girls!!

Can u still take your contraceptive pill wen having a BA?

And i know it says no fake tan for 7days prior to surgery, but what about just on my face?? is this okay?

Also acrylics – i have heard you need to take the whole set completely off….?

and ive heard u can take just 2 fingers off……? so they can still check the colour??

or …not take them off at all??

have my 2nd consultation 2mrw with mr singh and pre op!! all booked for Aug the 26th…. very excited to find out implant sizes- unders/overs- high profile low profile as i have no clue !!! Xxx

hiya hun, they say to stop taking pill 2 weeks before, HOWEVER i went to my gp as i needed to discuss my operation plans with them, and they said its the estrogen in the pill that causes blood clots? so i have been put onto a non estrogen pill they advised me that would be fine…hope that helps….

im afraid i have no idea about the nails things, and i wouldnt see a problem with fake tan on face as its nowhere near the operation to be…but it may be something in the fakde tan, so id just check with mya…or maybe see if you can find info opn interent?

hi hun, i had pre op on sat n they tell u all about all dem things in dat hun n give u a back wiv all info in doo,s n donts ect. No false nails, hair pieces,Nail varnish, face creams, fake tan list goes on basically f. all lol, not even hair band wiv metal in, n as 4 d pill boots is right no pill too wks b4 hun sorry not even a chewing gum its all fun xxx

hey boots,have you had ur op yet? I went to my gp tp tell them i was having surgury and ask about the pill because i was already on the non estrogen one and they said i should be fine to stay on it but my surgeon asked me to stop taking it still for two weeks prior…but your surgeon might be different.i had mario russo

Hey hun, No fake tan – this is to stop infection, so the tan solution doesn’t get into the wound when they make the incision. Acrylics may depend on the surgeon, a lot of them will say no, to check the colour and when they do your obs post, pre and during the op, the dyna map machine may not pick up a heart rate from you with acrylics on. So i’d say best not to just to be safe. And yes, no pill for two weeks but as boots said, check with your gp about changing the pill, this may not be suitable for you though as all women are different obv. Hope that helps! xxx

I know when I’ve prepped some of my younger patients before surgery they’ve tried to get away with wearing fake tan and had their ops postponed xx

You can have acrylic nails on aslong as its only the tips that are a colour/white so no full colour or polish on toes.I am a nail technician so was horrified when I thought I’d have to take nails off lol its just so they can see your nail colour.can’t help you with any of your other bits though sorry xxx

WHat about Alcohol?? Im sure my surgeon said no alcohol for 2 weeks but i think it might of been 2 days but not sure!!??

cant you keep nail varnish on ur feet tho cause u wear those stocking things so cant see feet anyway can you? x

Alcohol is a nono for a week before ur op x

my nurse said 48hrs for alcohol

Alcohol is usually 48hours but it will differ with different surgeons and ifferent patients. I’d do a week to be safe xx

I had to go without alcohol for 2 weeks prior! It was hard not to have a glass of red!

saw mr singh yesterday – he said jus take one acrylic nail off! NO fake tan at all…..

no alcohol for 7 days before booooo V Festival non drinking lol

and im fine to keep taking my contraceptive pill xxx
