Fed up of waiting. Not happy with MYA.

Some of you may remember me posting about MYA postponing my op date which should have been on 1st Feb ( makes me so sad thinking I should have lovely big boobies right now!) due to a previous eating disorder years and years ago. I’m literally desperate to get the op re scheduled as soon as possible, but it seems dr Adamo will not operate without a letter from the people who used to treat me. I have contacted them on numerous occasions and they point blank said they are not in a position to comment when they haven’t seen me for over 2 years!! They said MYA should contact my GP again.

Anyway, my PC said I may have to swap surgeon, to dr Singh, which is fine, but he doesn’t have a free consultation till the end of march which means I won’t get operated on till at least April?!?!?

I’m not happy. I booked and paid for my procedure in December. I understand MYAs concerns for health reasons but I feel like they are making no effort whatsoever to try and keep my op with dr Adamo and get it done this month. They’re leaving it all down to me to contact whoever which I have been doing but I’m just fed up of it.

Grrrrrr rant.

I’m in a really similar situation hun – I’m waiting for mya to contact my GP. My op got postponed the DAY BEFORE I was due to go in. And I’ve heard nothing so far. I’m sick of waiting. What am I supposed to be doing? No contact from mya at all….now they have my money, it feels like they aren’t bothered x

Exactly same position girls. My op was 3rd Feb but they postponed it 3 days b4 even tho id gone out of my way the week before to get the info they had requested, I’d been upto hos etc but they didn’t fax thru the request the day they should have instead they left it 4 days later n then decided they wanted info from a therapist I saw once for self esteem problems and I couldn’t get tht til the next day, which she said was too late n it would have to be postponed, I feel that when you have your 1st consultation they should request the things they need then as I filled in the health questionair and stated previous issues etc back in september so if they thought I had problems that was gonna affect surgery why do they take payments with out even checking prior to it all they would save all problems n dissapointment, my mum n partner had taken time off work to help with kids and then they cudnt change them back then. No1 ever contacts me to let me know what’s happening I have to chase them n even then I’m left dissapointed I waited 2 month after paying for the op to still waiting now. So dissapointed xx

I’ve now heard from my PC who has been really lovely about it – my nurse at Newcastle has now left so it’s all getting sorted out with a new nurse there. I’ve got a provisional op date now at the end of March (23rd I think?). Hopefully it’ll get sorted. I agree Beckie, it is quite frustrating having everything booked, kids looked after etc, then the op postponed. They should do the pre op / paperwork sooner maybe? xx
