feeling miserable and teary today! ive posted pictures of my hideous scars-almost 3 weeks post op and although i started off incredibly pleased….feel like ive made a huge mistake! please if anyone has had terrible scars early stages can you let me know how you got on because at the moment i feel like no care or attention was taken to create neat scars at all for me. I know i scar well as i have an invisible c-section scar too!!!!

    Hi Carla,

You are still only 3 weeks po, same as me! I dont like my scars, they are both raised and look big and pink still. Im hoping mine will fade with time as its still early days. I would try not to worry about them too much right now.. least thats what i am trying to do x

Hi Jessica, I understand its early days, but if you look at my scar picture its evident theres been a struggle , I had no stitches either, is this common? Ive seen numerous thin neat lines that might be pink or bumpy because its early but in my case its just a big plain mess. 🙁

Ive just sent you a freind request hun so i can have a look at your pics. What do you mean you had no stitches? I had dissolvable stitches.. so they were never needed to be removed x

I had none, my nurse said she was removing my steri strips and trimming back the stitches a little and then ran over to another nurse to ask where my stitches were. The 2nd nurse said that Mounir doesnt use them? x

Hi Carla i havent seen your pics yet but i have sent you a friend request. I have just purchased some Dematix scar treatment. This is meant to help with large scars and can be used from 3 weeks. maybe you could give this a go???? It is £29.99 in boots but i got it off ebay for £10.00. My friend used it on her scars and hers are hardly visible. I cant see my scars til 3 weeks. i think all surgeons are different, mine said not to touch the plaster over mine for 3 weeks he used dissolvable stitches and glue, im intrigued to see what mine look like but im only one week post op today. try the dermatix tho hun anything is worth a try if your unhappy. hope you feel better soon x

Hun ive just had a look at your pics and i totally understand why you are so upset. I would ask to see a nurse immediately and your surgeon. If that fails why not contact head office and see what the complaints procedure is? x

I would wait until after lunch time and if you havent heard back call up and ask to see a nurse asap and i would ask to speak to your pc and explain to her how you feel and that you would like to see your surgeon to discuss your scars. You deserve some follow up/aftercare after your surgery especially as you are upset. Try not to cry tho hunnie there are always things that can be done x

i would be upset, its understandable hun.. try not to let it upset you although i know its easier said than done. I would ring up if you dont hear back and say you want to speak to your PC and arrange to see the surgeon to discuss the scars, i dont think a nurse will be able to do much or say much becaues when you went before and saw them seems they were clueless? Thats why i would chase your PC and a surgeon appointment. I dont understand how he has closed you if he didnt use stitches.. ive never heard of it before. Chin up tho hun, im sure something can be done to help you x

    Hi Carla,
Mr. Mounir often uses stiches that are dissolvable, this means that you cannot always see them and they do not need to be removed as they are absorbed into the body or fall out naturally as the body heals. Every person heals differently and this is why incisions can look very different on one patient to another.
Mr. Mounir is very particular with his incisions and has an extremely low rate of complications with his patients; wounds can take up to 6 weeks to heal before you see the ‘end result’ and for that reason we advise that you follow all post-operative instructions, attend nurse post-operative appointments and allow your body time to adjust and for your scars to settle.
If your concern continues then please do not hesitate to get in contact with us.

I feel that this message is for the benefit of those reading this thread and not me. Im quoting the nurse at my post op appointment when i say’ Dr Mounir does not use stitches’ I dont know if he did or he didnt, but its very clear to me and anyone observing my scar photographs that something has gone wrong here. so far ive also follwed all post op protocol too. Im still waiting for a nurse to contact me, not the other way around.

    Hiya hun,
Sorry to hear about your scars, if its any better, my mate had bright red scars 6 weeks after her op, and the nurse recommended this scar cream that she could use.
Now there is nothing to even suggested she had a ba. I know its easy to say, but try not to worry, I think it will get better in time. Big Hugs, you will be ok.

Or Carla hope your feeling a bit better today….im sure they always use disolvable stiches thats what Mounir told me at the pre op. Ive had a look and they look as though they still healing to me (not that im an expert). Im sure some people take longer than others. I had to have more steri strips on when i went for my 1wk app with the nurse as one of mine was not healed enough and she told me to wait another day or so for a shower as well.

I would still get an app though with your nurse or even Mounir if you can there may be something they can do to help them heal and if not just put your mind at rest that its all ok. Let me know how you get on xxx
