Feeling unwell PO

I’m day 5 PO and I am really struggling with eating. My appetite seems to have disappeared after surgery and the nausea comes and goes during the day. When does this end? Anyone else experiencing this? I’m not taking the pain meds anymore, but nothing has changed:/

Hiya, I’m 5 days po, went to work today because I was feeling ok, still on the painkillers though but not as many. It took a little while for my appetite to come back and actually felt a bit faint today but I did have a couple of glasses of wine last night! The painkillers are prob quite strong so may take a couple of days to come out of your system so it depends on when u stopped your pain killers as to when u may feel normal again. But if your concerned I’m sure the nurse can put your mind at ease. Hope u feel better x

I’m impressed that you are managing work already. I couldn’t even go to the park today and that was just for relaxation:P Just tired and having zero energy and the nausea doesn’t help. Just looking at food makes me want to vomit!! Was actually given tramadol instead of diclofenac as I’m asthmatic. I know tramadol to be very strong, so maybe my body is not coping well with that. Last time I took it though was last night, so it should be out of my system by now. hmm

Is the GA known to cause long term nausea/loss of appetite?

I had nausea for around 5 days on and off wiht no appetite, it will go, its the anasthetic getting out of system

hey i am 4 days post op and only just beginning to feel better, everyone recovers at different speeds, when i had mine i could hear one girl up and about where as i was still really dizzy and the thought of having to get up and go home was filling me with dread, just take it easy and dont push yourself, you have been through a serious operation, i feel much better today as i literally laid in bed all day yesterday haha, i am sure in the next week or so you will feel better x x x x

Tramadol is def stronger, I’ve had it before and definatly affects me more. I’ve just changed my dressing and put a new support bra on. Everything looks nice and neat ))

Hey hun, if u were given antibiotics they can make u feel sick as a dog. I stopped them after 5 days with the nurses blessing cos they were awful so u shud feel fine soon xx

hi hun,ive had a terrible time up until yesterday…7 days today! Ive felt constantly sick an in pain but yesterday I felt a million times better..a bit rough again today but nothing like I was…just remember youve had a big operation, rest as much as you can! xxx I am about to change my dressings as my others are peeling off…so scared to look!
